Beautiful view from room. Room is noisy from AC and other guests in hallway. Staff is friendly, and though breakfast was free for us as Diamond members, it is not worth the price if a guest were to pay. Mirror in bathroom was dirty which would make a guest think what else is dirty. More...

Excellent location! First time visiting Savanah for our sons wedding. We had so much fun and lots of laughter hanging out on the rooftop drinking and reminiscing. The A/C in our room was not working, very noisy and kept turning off when we were sleeping. We were able to switch rooms the 2nd night at 1:00 am in the morning (they had no rooms available both nights but put us in a room being renovated). My husband reminded the staff member about making sure to fix the A/C in our room and she offered to refund us for 1 night. We really appreciated her offering and will be back in the spring to shop, eat good food and will definitely stay at the cotton sail! More...

We were here about two years ago and were delighted to return. This time we had a river-view room to view the amazing river traffic - day and night with HUGE container ships. I suggest using the convenient city parking garage a block from the hotel ($16/day, weekends $5/day). We walked most places due to it's good location. Friendly staff; no fridge, small exercise area. Good roof-top bar. We'll be back. More...

I’m a Hilton gold member, so when I went to savannah this property looked enticing. It’s old style decorations, comfortable beds, but no self parking and valet will run you $30 bucks a night. There’s a cool rooftop bar/restaurant with great views of the water. If you want to stay somewhere unique I’d recommend trying then out. Leaving 4* because they didn’t really do anything extra for me as a gold member, and a lot of other properties do. More...

I am so glad that I selected this hotel for my 2-night stay in Savannah for a business conference. I was impressed with the hotel from the first moment I stepped on to the property. The parking attendant and concierge were very welcoming. I arrived at the hotel about 2 hours before my scheduled check-in. As a result, I had to wait until a room was available. I left my bags with the concierge and went out to get a bite to eat. When I returned, I was incredibly pleased to learn that my bags were transported to my room. My room was absolutely gorgeous. I had a corner room and had sweeping views of the river. It was a lovely sight to behold. The hardwood flooring was a nice touch. My bed felt like a slice of Heaven too. The showers, linens and toiletries were great too. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Savannah! More...

This was the best bed we have ever slept in. I did not give it a perfect score due to the noise above us, a lady in heels stomping around on the wood floor, although she did stop when we banged on the wall. Also strange noises (mechanical?) woke us up the first night. The location was perfect and the people are so friendly. We stopped at the visitor center and got a 48 hour parking pass and parked in the public parking garage nearby and didnt need the car the whole time. There is an elevator to River Street, a bar with a view and a great restaurant on site. Easy walk to the squares and city market. Be aware that a city view room may be of the parking lot. More...

Located along the river where you can watch the cargo ships coming in and out of the harbor from the river view rooms or the rooftop bar. The bed was very comfortable, but the room and bathroom is a little cramped. Hilton might want to consider installing a sliding door on the bathroom vs the swing door that creates an awkward way for 2 people to navigate the shower/ bathroom. More...

A beautiful property, located right on the Savannah river. The antique floors are breathtaking. The rooms are well appointed with coffee makers and needed accessories. We stayed in a room facing the river with a small door door and balcony. It was a gorgeous view. The AC works fabulous and the location is easy to access. We decided to try the restaurant, and sad to say a bit disappointed. The food was bland. We will stay here again, and try new restaurants in the area. More...

I believe this is one of the first of the Tapestry Collection Hotels I have stayed but it was absolutely amazing. I opted to upgrade my room with a river view and balcony. Beautiful floors, bathroom, and furnishings will delight you. The front desk staff, housekeeping staff, and the rooftop bar staff will treat you well with great southern hospitality and warmth. FYI - The street level comes in on the 3rd floor (or 4th floor) with the river road entrance comes in on the first floor. The Front desk is on the street level side.||||Such a shame that we were only staying one night before traveling to Beaufort, SC for the annual shrimp festival. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Savannah. ||||Travelers beware - we arrived late that evening and the hotel is attached to another hotel. The valet sign we saw when we arrived was at the wrong hotel. We thought we were at the correct hotel and gave the keys to a valet. As we are Hilton Honors members and use the app for our door key and check-in, we went right to the elevator. We could not access the elevator and did not discover we were at the wrong hotel until we went to the front desk. I could not help but laugh at the mistake and walked over to the hotel. I also had to go back to the valet to retrieve the car. The valet was a very nice young man that tried to give back the gratuity but I told him to keep it. There was not a valet at the Cottonsail. You just left your keys at the front desk and it was handled sometime during the night or morning. More...

Pros:1. Directly in the middle of river street and the historic district2. Pillows and blankets incredibly soft3. Staff is very hospitable4. They had a concierge that was knowledgeable about the sites 5. Romantic roof top deck restaurant that was open till 1am6. Bathroom was big and had a very clean, very big marble shower7. Very clean roomCons:1. Expensive 2. No breakfast3. No free parking4. Roof top deck was expensive 5. Rooms were small6. I only got two free water bottles when I initially checked in . . . This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I was a guest for my anniversary and this hotel was initially a hard sell for me because it was over $400+ a night. You can find cheaper rooms a block down the road. However, they went above and beyond to make us happy. We found mold in the AC unit in the room and we brought it to their attention they were quick to have staff take care of the problem and due to the inconvenience, they also took $$ off the bill, gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, and allowed us to park for free. This was already on top of the discount I got for purchasing the room directly with Hilton, they worked with us and gave us a competitive rate that matched sites like expedia.I recommend the river street view. It’s a short walk from everything including the chocolate stores, the Georgia Queen cruise, the ghost tours, and the American Prohibition Museum. I didn’t have to drive anywhere. There was also a really good seafood restaurant under the hotel that made the best damn Calamari. If you want amazing customer service, a scenic view, and don’t feel like walking far this is for you. I’d stay here a MILLION times over I didn’t want to leave! More...

We had a pretty good stay at the Cotton Sail, although a few reasons I’m subtracting a star:- 11:00 checkout, and no flexibility for a late checkout on the day we were there- our room was looking out from the front of the building and onto the sidewalk and street immediately in front. There were no see-through curtains in the room, which meant we had to keep our main curtains closed the whole time, which made the room unpleasantly dark. (There was just too much (foot) traffic in front of the window to leave the curtains open to let some light in).Other than that, the room was very nice and the staff was friendly. The location of the hotel is pretty great: right on the river, and within walking distance of nearly every tourist spot you’d want to visit. There was a note on our side table saying that it could get noisy and there were some earplugs. That was a nice touch and we soon found out that was much needed, as it got very loud throughout the night. To be fair, I think this is just a characteristic of Savannah in general, and it’s very much the same with any hotel downtown. More...

Excellent location. Reserved a balcony river view room online. When we got there, the room smelled musty and the balcony was so small that it was useless to us. I think they called it a Juliet Balcony. Don't think you can sit and have morning coffee on the balcony because it's that small - two people can hardly stand on it together. Traded the river view room for a city view room that was much nicer, roomier, smelled better, and was about $50 a night cheaper. Other than the issue with getting an acceptable room, the top deck for drinks and excellent view was amazing. The close proximity to the riverfront and all of the shops and restaurants was perfect. The Hilton staff was very nice and the concierge set up the trolley tour of the town for us and told us how to catch the nearest trolley to the visitors center to start the tour. Complementary Keurig coffee is available in the office area. Another benefit is that if you get valet parking for your vehicle, you can keep your vehicle there until 2pm on checkout day (without extra charges) to allow you additional time to tour the town and not worry about finding parking which can be difficult. Wow! What a lovely hotel, part of the Hilton honors group. Modern luxury built into an old warehouse setting. Right on the river walk, so it can't be more centrally located to the Savannah historic district. The rooms are spacious, cool and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Patti, the concierge, and Brian at the front desk. Valet parking costs $30 a day, but parking in that area is both scarce and expensive in any case. A great rooftop bar has one in the best views on the river. If you are a Hilton honors member there is a full free breakfast in their lounge. The room was fine with a very tiny (2 people at most) balcony overlooking the river. And right in the river walk with the restaurants, bars and shops. Valet parking was $30 per night, even though I only had them park my car once and they brought it back to me when I checked out. They told me that a complimentary breakfast was served on the top floor. I went there for breakfast and found the normal free breakfast stuff you'd find at any Holiday Inn Express. Also found out that the breakfast was only complimentary if you're a Hilton Honors Diamond member, or some such thing. They told me I would have to pay $10.99! I used 40,000 rewards points and paid $638 for 2 nights and I didn't rate a free breakfast? I declined. More...

I reserved 2 rooms. We arrived around 3p and one room was ready. They texted later when the other room was ready. The 2nd room was great. 4th floor balcony. My room was on the 3rd floor no balcony. The musty smell in the 3rd floor room was awful. It woke me up throughout the night. The next morning I requested a different room because of the smell. It was then that I realized I had paid for 2 balcony rooms. The hotel apologized and moved us to the room we paid for. The balcony (and open door) allows for ventilation and the old building, musty smell is barely detectable. The hotel did not offer any compensation for giving us the wrong room. In all fairness, I didn’t push the issue. Next time I’ll pay attention to what I paid for. It’s a nice hotel, great location. I would only stay here again if I could be guaranteed a balcony.
