The peace and tranquility here at Middletown Farm is very special. I helped Angela run a weekend Yoga & Mindfulness Retreat here. Angela organised a variety of very interesting classes & talks to compliment the yoga as well as running her own meditation sessions. We also had evening walks under beautiful sunsets and a full moon. Angela worked very hard to make the Retreat absolutely perfect for all the participants; there were lots of thoughtful little extra touches. My mini autobiography, Life story and Experience at ‘Cotswold Meditation & Mindfulness,’ I felt I needed to overshare… (Out of the tunnel and into the light…)8 weeks really flew by, and for the first time in my life I COMMITED to something! It was also the first time I ever asked for help / guidance for myself! I wanted to see something through for a change. I will be forever thankful for the guidance from Angela with her ‘8-Week Awareness & Wellbeing Course’, I will never regret it. Something as simple as taking a few moments in my day to meditate has thoroughly impacted my life, in the most extraordinary and positive way. (I believe that’s all we need in life, is someone willing to show and guide us through and above the clouds to see the blue sky).I was in a very dark place before this course, I unintentionally created myself a prison! I couldn’t see a way out of it! I wanted out of my head! I wanted a resolution! Constantly feeling like I didn’t know who I was. Anxious, stressed, depressed, broken hearted, sad and all the other negative emotions that took over my life! I took everything personally; I cried all the time and sometimes without reason. It affected my job, I wouldn’t turn up, I called in sick because I wanted to stay in bed. I couldn’t face the day and couldn’t sleep at night. There was a constant knot in my stomach from overthinking, which made me physically ill. Social situations made me feel like no one wanted me there and my presents offended everyone. I didn’t want to leave the house, but I wanted to run away all at the same time. I ruined friendships, turned down opportunities, and I ruined my relationship by sabotaging it out of fear of getting hurt! – only to get hurt. (As you think, so shall you become!) So, I started to search ‘Quick Fixes’… ‘Why am I this / that’ nothing worked by just reading about it. I didn’t want to end up stuck and being like family members that gave up and took the prescribed pills. I was exhausted mentally and physically! I was tired of being stressed, sad and anxious all the time. I wanted to be more at peace with myself, I wanted to love me for who I am and be content with life.I decided to ‘take action’! I tried anything I could to get better. I wanted to fix the problem / get out of my prison. I didn’t want to do my usual trick and run away /avoid it and pretend everything is ok if I brush it away! I’d never had to deal with it before, I was never taught to. I was interested in holistic healing, so I tried Reiki, Kinesiology, Acupuncture and a few other things, only to be given the same advice after every session, they all suggested ‘meditation’. In my moment of despair, searching for help I saw the course and immediately got in contact with Angela (on the Saturday). I asked if she was free to start the course (on the Sunday (from which I was aware most people don’t work)), she accepted. For that small gesture, accepting me to start at last minute, I will be forever thankful for! – so thank you Angela! (You really helped me, more than you will ever know.) I ensured I turned up to every session without excuses. – I was serious about trying and getting the most out of the experience. Going to the classes became my sanctuary and motivation for getting better. I was determined to get back to life. – I am still working on this too!Since I’ve been trying to ‘Live in the now’ so many opportunities have cropped up in my life over the last several weeks, I’ve just openly accepted every opportunity as it came, not giving an excuse / reason why I can’t! I am so grateful, thankful and appreciative for them happening. (Maybe it is due to me being more aware of the opportunities). I couldn’t have done this alone though, turning up and doing the meditation wasn’t always easy! Having the guidance and having sat and shared with Angela made me feel like I wasn’t alone and made me feel I was in the right place. I just completed the 8 week course. I would really recommend it. It has really helped me to understand more about the way my mind works, and how to build a different relationship with my thoughts. Angela has a lovely teaching style. I feel confident that I'll be incorporating daily meditation practice into my routine - I already feel the benefits after 8 weeks, and I am looking forward to exploring it more. One of the great things about actually attending the course and not just trying to do this using apps, etc, is that you really learn why you're doing it, and you learn that when you think you are doing it all wrong, you're actually doing it right! I've always had a keen interest in meditation and mindfulness and decided to partake in the 8 week meditation course with Angela. Each of Angela's sessions are a mixture of both educational understanding of meditation / mindfulness as well as guided practical exercises. I just finished my 8 sessions with Angela In Meditation and I feel rich of tools on how to calm myself and to approach stressful situations. I find myself building my knowledge into my everyday life. Angela is very down to earth and open and I was looking forward to each session. Angela was very flexible in arranging individual days and times for each season. Cotswold Meditation & Mindfulness is wonderful. I was recommended by a friend, as I was really open to meditation and I wanted to find out more! Angela is a very inspiring teacher. Dedicated to what she loves and so down to earth! After completing the 8 week meditation course, I had a Reiki session, this was my first one ever, I was very open to it and it was absolutely wonderful.... i'm going to have a second!I am now attending Group Meditation sessions with Angela and others, I have learnt so much and I can't wait to continue my journey, I feel inspired and happier each day.I recommend this to everyone, even just one session... it's a real benefit to yourself, your mind and body and also to others around you :) I now meditate every day, it has become a healthy habit that i can continue to grow with. I started the Meditation course a month ago and I can tell it really helped me much. My sense of clarity and awareness started improving. I can now feel more connected to my inner self and I definitely feel calmer, and I am only halfway through the course. I also noticed that my approach to overwhelming situations changed in a positive manner. I would like to thank Angela for her patience,kindness, and understanding!
