What do you love most about your job?
Witnessing people evolve from zero mobility and zero activities to having something to look forward to and enjoy being part of is the best part of our job. We support people to take positive risk and empower them to do normal things other people within their age group would normally do. It may be done differently but nonetheless, this can and should be done with everyone.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The need to provide a service that fitted around what the client requires and not ask anyone to buy a service that is restrictive. My social work training and a knack for social justice is a key element of what drives the appetite to fight for other rights including access to funding that otherwise they may never have been given. Information is powerful and often than not, this is not well disseminated to vulnerable people. Connect 2 Flexicare takes up more than just the caring side, we provide you with any useful information including actioning external referrals accordingly.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because we provide care and support that meets them at the point of their needs and not the other way round. We go beyond care and with us, it is personal.
We provide 1:1 support in various settings but mainly in client's own home. This support can be as flexible as required to meet all identified needs. The minimum hours we provide per single visit is 4 hours.
Live in Care
Providing care in a home environment where the carer comes to live with the person who needs support. This can also be useful as a respite option for a minimum period of one week. The cost of this service varies depending on the needs and requirements of the client.

Reviewing the most expensive packages of care for Bucks CC and making sure those with health needs are funded by health accordingly as well as conducting senior MDT panels to resolve outcomes. I was appointed to Sit on CHC appeal panel representing Bucks Countywide. I was responsible in undertaking joint MCA & DoLS assessments with BIA’s & Follow up various Clinical Commissioning Groups’ for any back payments on CHC packages. This resulted in huge budgetary savings for the local authority in the region of £500,000. Joint working with legal department and director of services to draw reclaim demand letters on clients who transfer to health and the local authority had continued to fund their care. I Supervised social worker’s county wide whilst offering Continuing healthcare training, Collating data and report preparation for Director of services. During this time, there was increased assessments undertaken and resulted into a sizable number of high- cost packages being transferred to Health subsequently saving significantly for the local authority. I also helped put in place the CHC operational framework from the front door- financial reclaims once eligibility has been agreed. I was part of a team that undertook best interest assessments in line with the Cheshire west landmark ruling 2014 to safeguard people’s deprivation of liberties to clear Kent County Council backlog. I also undertook some adhoc BIA work for Luton through Guidant group before taking a break to stabilise my newly founded company -Connect 2 Flexicare Limited.
Health & Social Care Over 75's Project ( Hospital Admission Prevention in Conjunction with GP Surgeries)
Worked with a team of doctors and other professionals including hospital discharge teams to coordinate planned discharges to prevent crisis and also activate early intervention to prevent hospital admissions. Pretty much getting health and social care to speak to each other in order to maximise on patients outcomes once before a crisis is arrived at.
