We LOVED our entire experience with Clove and Kin. My husband and I interviewed a different photography company whose work I had admired for years - and their photos were beautiful, but I felt uncomfortable with the vibe - like maybe hiring this couple could include drama, stress, and lots of opinions. I had LOVED the Youngren's work for years - Jeff photographed one of my friend's weddings when the Youngrens were just starting out, but I knew I was absolutely priced out of their brand. When I heard they had launched a more affordable brand, I just had to check it out. Jeff Youngren (the founder of Clove and Kin) called me personally to talk about our inquiry, and it was a little bit of a stretch to our budget, but we were able to work it out. It was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Our images are GORGEOUS, but beyond that the people we worked with were fabulous. Kelsey in the office is very responsive, and everyone is kind and professional. Our photographers Lauren and Weston set us at ease immediately, captured beautiful and creative images, and helped us feel relaxed all day long. It was a high value to me to create a day where we would plan details ahead - and then just relax and be present with our guests on the day of. A lot of very kind, well-intentioned people warned me the day would fly by and I wouldn't eat - and I was determined that there CAN be a different experience of your wedding than that. Clove and Kin not only captured our day beautifully - but also helped us feel relaxed and present the way we hoped we could. We could not be happier with choosing Clove & Kin to be our wedding photography studio. Taylor, Lauren and Kelsey were so professional and amazing at their jobs, and the photos turned out phenomenally.
Kelsey is enthusiastic and organized. She took the time to get to know us which was critical in choosing the right photographer for us. She answered all of our questions promptly, gave us tips and pointers for our engagement session, and even helped us choose the perfect location for the engagement session. She sent us an itinerary of our wedding day several weeks prior, and was very accommodating when we requested slight changes.
Taylor is an amazing photographer. We were nervous about our engagement session, but he suggested meeting at a bar beforehand, which gave us a chance to relax and get to know each other a little bit. The whole experience was really fun, and the photos were magical.
On the day of the wedding, Taylor and Lauren were very professional, made sure everything ran smoothly, and not only put up with our crazy pup, but took some amazing shots of her! They captured every special moment, and we absolutely love how the photos turned out.
We would highly recommend Clove & Kin. Thank you guys so much for everything!

Above and beyond quality and talent, genuinely kind and thoughtful, and oh, so professional! From the very first meeting at their studio to even a month after the big day, they made us feel comfortable, warmly welcomed, and assured.
I remember my wife, Katie, and I going downstairs to the Starbucks afterwards and talking about how much we enjoyed meeting Lauren and Kelsey. They took the time to learn more about us (not so easy a task with us being a couple of awkward introverts!) and managed to perfectly capture our personality, tastes, and preferences from the photo highlights down to the minor details. You will not only get great value, but the photography is high quality. They work amazingly well with other vendors (even providing credit on their blog), they float around unobtrusively while managing to capture your precious moments, and even provide encouragement and perspective the day-of to help you slow down and thoroughly enjoy your special day.
I encourage anyone coming across their name to, at the very least, reach out and meet with them at their studio. Good luck and congratulations to all you future married couples :)

When my husband and I thought about what our wedding could be, we always envisioned something incredibly intimate, highly personalize, and uniquely us.
As we see all the photos coming out, we are ecstatic that Weston and Blair were able to capture exactly that. From our initial prep sessions, to the day-of interactions with Weston & Blair, and now during the editing- the Clove & Kin team has gone above and beyond. We especially love the personalized comments on Instagram and the Clove & Kin blog and are astonished at how well they have been able to capture who we are. It was a very special day and we’re grateful to have had Kelsey, Weston, and Blair on our journey.
Pre Wedding Coordination: Kelsey, the studio manager, is fantastic! She is super responsive, professional, and overall very enthusiastic. She is very accommodating and offered us options to work within our modest budget. She also worked closely with us to make a photography schedule that ensured time was allotted to all our photo requests and that everything ran smoothly.
The Photography: Absolutely amazing! As designers, we have a strong opinion on anything involving the creative industry . Both photography & post production from Weston/Blair are excellent. All the photos have strong compositions, beautiful framing, and amazing white balance (the thing that makes all the lighting look natural & timeless)
The Photographers: Weston (Lead) and Blair are incredibly talented people, who manage to be fun while still keeping it professional. Weston set our camera-shy anxiety at ease by assuring us that he would give us lots of clear direction throughout the entire process. We especially loved Weston’s excitement. It was palpable on his face and mannerism how much he thoroughly enjoyed his work. Occasionally, he would get super pleased with a shot he’d just taken that he had to show us immediately. We loved the instant feedback and it made us feel even more secure taking pictures.

The only thing you will have 30 years after your wedding (that hasn't turned yellow in your closet) is your photographs.
Picking the right photographer is vital to your memories of the day. Clove and Kin offered their "newer" photographer who was phenomenal to work with and has such talent! He took great shots, would fix my dress, make sure the jewelry was straight or moved my hair off my shoulder for a better shot. He really knew what he was doing! (You would have never known he was new except he had the face of a baby!)
The pictures came out amazingly well and everyone commented about the great photographers. Even during the wedding they captured the moment but were nonintrusive to the ceremony. The thing I valued (after the great shots - of course) was that Weston really cared. He was more than a photographer, he was my partner in making sure this was the best day of my life. He prayed with me (because everyone else was, so he joined in!) and took the extra step to making sure it was a perfect day. Clove and Kin basically wraps up a wedding planner with their photographers due to the organization and how well they take care of the day!

My husband and I were very excited just to meet our possible future photographer. After about five minutes of being with Weston (photographer) and Kelsey (studio manager), we knew we met our match. It may sound crazy, but it felt like we were catching up with old friends and the fact that we entrusted them for our special day was just another plus. Little did we know about the discounts (new talent photographer and up front product payment) which made us even more excited. Budgeting for a wedding isn't easy, but Clove and Kin made it happen with optional payment plans. The engagement session was so much fun. We spent two hours with Weston, we got to go to two different locations and we got to change outfits. For the wedding day, we were guaranteed two photographers for the whole day making it a stress free day. Even though we hadn't yet met our second photographer until just a couple hours before the ceremony, Jaime clearly showed her enthusiasm to capture all the candid moments for our special day. Everything was planned so well and the pictures turned out amazing. There were so many great pictures; everyone was raving about the photos and asking "Where did you find these guys? These pictures are ah-mazing!" I haven't even gotten to the album which Blair (album designer) did and it was just so lovely. Every spread summed up the day and the material was perfect. We especially loved the leather bound and the 12"x12" was the perfect size. All in all, the photographers were great, the studio manager was great, the album designer was great, the communication was great, and we never had a single moment of doubt. We were able to have access to the galleries in less than a month after each event and download them all, after the wedding album was finished, for family. We highly recommend Clove and Kin and you will not regret investing a few extra dollars to remember, even the candid moments you didn't know they captured, from the most memorable day of your life. We could not have had better photographers for our wedding! When we first met Kelsey and Weston in their adorable office, we discussed the details of our wedding and just got to know them. What awesome people! On our wedding day Weston kept everything on track and even offered me (the bride) much needed advice on how to stop and soak up the day. Everyone was kind and professional. Our photographer Sean is super talented & Kelsey who manages the whole process is amazing to work with. The photos say it all - they have a bright, happy style without looking overdone or super posed. Sean made us feel so comfortable -we forgot he was even there & the editing is so consistent...you know exactly what you are getting. The turnaround is also really fast. When my son and his fiance Channel set their date, Clove and Kin was the first and last photography company we looked at. Hayden and Channel live in So Cal and the wedding was in our Hometown in Northern Cali . And Clove and Kin are located in San Diego. Jamie was our photographer and the kids were able to skype with her and chat and see her work. As soon as they were done talking, Hayden called me and said they loved her and they wanted her! We booked with them that day! Jamie did such an amzing job of capturing all the things that were special to Hayden and Channel. We worked so hard on the wedding venue... it was a private estate that my girlfriend owns, and a completely blank canvas. Everything that was there was hand picked by Channel. The detail shots are so incredible. We forever have the beauty of that day captured in our portraits. Hayden and Channel chose to see each other before the wedding and they are some of the most gorgeous images I have ever seen. Every sweet moment was captured at the ceremony. I already knew the reception was a blast, cause I was there... but the images captured truly reflect how fun and fantastic it was. Oh and I cannot forget to mention our family portraits, oh my goodness. My ninety year old grandmother made it the wedding... and the images of her with my son and with my family our priceless. Not only was Garrett and his team easy to work with, but he really made us feel special throughout the day. He was easy-going and gave me the sweetest first look pep-talk (that made me well up!) Even the engagement session was super fun! Clove & Kin really took the time to make our day special.
We were so comfortable around Garrett and his team and he MADE US LOOK GOOD! (we take bad pics!) Seriously, I do not think I am photogenic, so to be in love with every picture in front of me is beyond awesome!
Daniel, the studio manager was SO RESPONSIVE! Even payment was simple due to them having everything accessibly online! SO EASY! There was no up-selling, no haggling, no "well if you want us to stay longer, that's going to cost more". They know what brides want and they keep it simple. Such a pleasure to work with.
