Mental health care is absolutely appalling in NWI. I have been shuffled to 3 offices in 2 years through hospital networks merely for prescription refills on the drug that has given me sobriety. I've been left with weeks of no medication due to provider error through the shuffles and lack of professionalism and staff. Waiting over an hour past my scheduled appointment times was always, always an issue. Not anymore. If you need help with anxiety/addiction/depression please, PLEASE google Clarity Clinic in Munster. Dr. Lisa Laskarin is incredible. INCREDIBLE. She listens, she is SMART, and the office staff was kind, and amazing. I've never recieved this level of care in a hospital network, and I am so grateful today to have found her. I have been so responsible with my health for the last two years, and I'm beyond thrilled to have found a lady doctor who runs her office with the same passion I put into my own self work every day. I have been receiving services at Clarity for 1 year and it has made a tremendous difference in my life. I had insurance up to 4 mos ago when my job was phased out. I could not afford COBRA insurance, because the same insurance I had would cost $985 a month to keep it.I told the therapist I needed to stop coming, and she told me about the self pay rates. I am glad she did. I am paying a little more than I was paying when I had insurance. But i am glad I could continue to come to Clarity. My insurance had a deductible too, and I only had to pay the amount that was charged for the deductible. My insurance company did not pay anything until my deductible was met. And even after the deductible was met, they only paid the amount that they allowed.I am very happy that they see self pay patients, and I never had a billing problem with them, even when I had insurance. I am a patient at Clarity Clinic, and I also happen to work in medical billing. I love the clinic, my therapist is fantastic, and has helped me beyond words. As far as the billing goes, I have never had a problem, and know that the charges are in line with what is being charged every where,Doctors and therapists NEVER get the full amount of charges from insurance companies that they have an agreement with. What the insurance allows, is what they get , and if there is deductibles to meet, then that comes out of the patients pockets, PERIOD. No matter where you go, its going to be the same thing if you have a deductible. Charges that are over the allowed amount are written off...no one gets that money.I think its up to patients to find out their benefits, and what their insurance pays before having services. I know this first hand, because I struggle with explaining this to people at my job. Self pay rates are a nice thing to offer to people with no insurance, even though they pay a little more than people with insurance. More...

As I realize I am a work in progress, my therapist has helped me realize my strengths and also dealing with the challenges in my life. They work with your schedule as well, to setup appointments.
