I don't even know how to describe how amazing Mayra's cake and cupcakes are!! They're by far the best that I've tried, ever! She made my son a beautiful vanilla cake for his 3rd Birthday, along with chocolate cupcakes, and salted caramel cupcakes. Everyone loved them, and asked where they were from. I have been trying to have a cake made with Chubby Love Bake Shop for years now. I browse the website with excitement but am always late booking. Mayra is booked months in advance and with good reason. This amazing Optimus Prime cupcake cake was delivered in the rain right to my house. Mayra was so kind and excited about her work. My son was ecstatic and couldn't stop smiling. Not only does the cake look amazing, but this is the rare cake that also tastes amazing. One guest texted me after the party and said "Thank  you for serving the best cupcake I've ever eaten." I have to agree! This is a long overdue review for Chubby Love/Mayra.Back in November 2016 I was searching for a bakery to make my 2-tiered baby shower and I contacted a few bakeries - all located in the far south suburbs (due to having family located in that area and they were going to pay for the cake). I was not having much luck so I decided to Google bakeries near me when I came across Chubby Love Bake Shop and seen the great reviews. I know that from her Facebook page she was selling cupcakes at a local coffee shop not too far from me and I really wanted to be able to sample them before placing an order. I went in and purchased her Dulce de Leche and Vanilla Bean cupcakes for us to try prior to placing our order. They were AMAZING!!! Because of the flavor, along with the quote she had given me I knew I had to place an order with her. Our baby shower cake and cupcakes turned out even better than I expected. Since we've had this cake, we try to book family parties/events around Mayra's schedule (Example: our baby's Baptism date was switched from what we originally wanted because she was booked) and I booked my twins 1st birthday cake for January 2018 back in July 2017 as we'd prefer not to use another baker. Like others have said she's definitely a pleasure to work with! She's extremely friendly, responds in more than a timely manner, and is very accommodating (to even high maintenance people like myself that's so indecisive). I'm ashamed that I didn't write this last year, when I had my first experience with Mayra and her delicious baking. Then, she made gorgeous and tasty shortbread cookies in the shape of a teacup for my daughter's 6th tea party birthday. These were a big hit! Soon after, she made a yummy chocolate birthday cake and this past weekend, baked a fantastic cake for my husband's 40th birthday. It was awesome to look at (beer-themed) and tasted great.It would be enough for Mayra to be a gifted baker, but she's also a complete delight. She's professional, kind, open to suggestions and just really easy to work with. I can't wait for the cake she's doing for my daughter's birthday in a few weeks! While looking for a bakery that could make both vegan and non-vegan wedding cake for our son and daughter-in-law's upcoming wedding, we heard about Chubby Love Bakeshop. We contacted Mayra at Chubby Love and from that point on the entire experience was nothing short of outstanding. Mayra came to our home with a tasting of both types of cakes (vegan and non-vegan) and numerous flavors for us to sample. Not only is this cake utterly delicious, moist and flavorful but it isn't super sugary and conventional. We actual saw guests scrambling to get to untouched slices at the reception. Also, Mayra is an absolute dream to work with. She sincerely cares about what you want your dream cake to look like and, as an extra bonus, is fun and completely down to earth. This review is long overdue and way worth more than 5 stars. I actually met with Mayra a while back to order some goods for a party I was having, she was super sweet, very humble, understanding, and really want to give me something special however, I decided against placing the order due to budget issues . .. The quote I was given was E X P E N S I VE, like above normal expensive. But It wasn't until a recent visit to my local whole foods that I finally decided to try one of her $5 vegan vanilla cupcakes (please note this is over a year later & I shop at whole foods regularly). This cupcake was love at first bite, utterly amazing, words can't describe it. It was literally the best cupcake I have ever had in my life. You can taste the quality, you can taste the REAL ingredients, no artificial stuff going on here. So so much flavor. Ugh! I wish had another. I will definitely order from Chubby Love soon, well worth the expensive price tag bc I would've paid double for that cupcake. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" . Mayra was fantastic! She was incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. She was able to create a design with our concept and surpassed our expectations with lots of personal touches on the cake. Awesome design aside, the cake was DELICIOUS!!! We had red velvet (with potato chips!) and chocolate. The buttercream was fresh and tasted amazing. Kids and adults gobbled up the entire cake! I heart Chubby Love!  Mayra made cakes for two big birthday parties for me recently - my little one and my hubs - and both were just amazing.  Totally custom designs and colors to match my vision for each, delicious flavors (her frosting is to die for.. nothing like the chalky-sweet store-bought stuff), and just beautiful.  The cakes were such hit with the guests - so many people kept asking where I got them!  On top of that, Mayra is professional and accessible and wonderful to work with.  Her prices are very reasonable too.  She efficiently and rapidly responded to all my random email questions, hand delivered the cakes to my house, and even took extra time with me to ensure the cake was fully stable and transportable the morning of the party.I look forward to more Chubby Love cakes in my future... When you order cakes or cookies from Chubby Love, you feel like you are getting a present yourself when they are hand delivered to your home!   i mean, yes, Mayra is so sincere and caring, professional, talented both visually and with ***flavors*** and everything is priced so reasonably.  But on top of that, everything comes beautifully packaged it feels like I get to open a present myself!  When I need baked goods, I only call Chubby Love and so should you! I was looking for a local bake shop that specializes in natural (dye/flavoring free) cupcakes for my sons 1st Bday.  I came across this one on yelp.  So glad I did!!! The owner was able to accommodate my order with short notice and even hand delivered them to my home the day of the event!  So helpful when you are a mom of two little ones!! Great recommendation for local business.I used Chubby Love Bakeshop to create custom Star Wars cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and had the best experience! They made a cake for my wife's 40th birthday and it was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever eaten.  I ordered a vanilla almond cake based on my wife's taste and I didn't think I'd like it much as I'm more of a chocolate person.  But the cake was so good that I, along with our 28 guests (10 inch round cake), loved it.  Many people asked where we got it from.   Mmmm I can still almost taste the perfectly moist cake topped by delectable buttercream. Omg... these cupcakes are addicting!!!  I dont even know where to begin.  Mayra (the owner/baker) has a recipe for her cupcakes that is unlike any other cupcake I have had.  We used her for my son's first birthday party ( Mickey themed) and there was not one person who did not feel the same way as me.  Her presentation is amazing as well- she is the most talented artist and baker- I will never use another baker for any event that I am hosting.  Also, when working with Mayra, no matter what size of the order, she makes you feel like your order is all she is focusing on- great customer service.
