I started taking piano lessons with Chris about 10 months ago as an adult beginner and I can confidently say that I have come a long way in a short space of time because Chris is such an excellent teacher. Chris demonstrates and explains techniques well and patiently. Lessons are not only enjoyable but Chris caters to my ability well. My skills have developed quickly as Chris challenges me with a new scale or piece every week. Chris ensures I spend time on a particular piece until I have mastered it. I am very lucky to have Chris as my piano teacher and am so pleased with my progress. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris to anyone considering piano lessons. More...

Started with Chris in September '16, following on and off lessons with other teachers in the past. Through Chris' teaching and guidance I went straight to grade 2 and achieved a distinction in March '17. Thanks Chris.

I gave up learning piano 14 years ago after passing grade 2 and going to university. In my early 30's, I decided to take it up again, and can truly say I could have not found a better teacher. Chris is very patient and very experienced. He picks up on the small things, which changes just playing a piece, into a performance. I've managed to pick things up again very quickly with Chris, and will be sitting my grade 3 after just a few months with him. Very pleased. Highly recommended. More...

Chris has been teaching my three sons for the last year. All three were ready to give up their piano lessons until Chris took over teaching them. The boys are 12,14 and 16 and they are all happy to go to their lesson and always come out smiling. He has a wonderful positive teaching style which resulted in a merit and distinction in their grade three exams two of them took resently. Instead of being a chore the piano at our house is now constantly played for enjoyment. Chris is a truly inspirational piano teacher. More...

I am in my early 30's and have absolutely no musical experience (apart from playing the recorder at school when I was 10). Chris has been an exceptional teacher, starting off with the basics of music reading and very quickly introducing new skills and techniques on a weekly basis such that after 6 months of tuition I am making plans to undertake my grade 1 exam.If you are like me, an adult with no musical background who is considering picking up a new skill, I cannot recommend Chris highly enough. He is incredibly patient and will challenge you on a weekly basis, such that you will progress very quickly without really noticing. Attempting to learn piano online or via an app (which I had previously attempted) is no substitute for a friendly and enthusiastic tutor! More...

When I started with Christopher over a year ago, I could play and read music, but was not very disciplined. I basically did my own thing. He has turned this around, so I am now playing in time, and tackling complicated pieces, including classical and blues, which I would never have thought possible. He is a very good teacher, extremely patient, and wants you get it right, so he really doesn't give up on you until you do. Brilliant.I would recommend him without hesitation.Regards, Roger Hammond More...

I hadn't played for 25 years when I finally fulfilled a long standing New Year resolution to relearn piano, and Chris has been great. Very patient with my embarrassingly rusty skills and he has taken me methodically through all the building blocks so I am fairly quickly getting back to some semblance of former ability. He is a fantastic pianist himself and being let loose on his grand piano for my lessons is a real treat. More...

I’ve been learning piano from Chris since summer 2016. He has been amazing. My rhythm was very poor until I met Chris. Over the past few months, he has helped me to improve my rhythm. He is so patient and will encourage you all the time. I’m so glad I’ve found a piano teacher who can help me to improve my skills despite not playing the piano for the last 10 to 15 years. More...

From the 10 years I've been with him all I can say is, he is an outstanding teacher who's helped me become this fabulous pianist I am today. Chris has helped gain 4 merits and 1 Distinction in all the graded music exams I've taken which I know I wouldn't have been able to achieve without his great method of teaching. More...

Since being classically trained on the piano as a child, I recently decided to start having lessons again after many years of not playing, and wanted to study jazz and blues disciplines. I was lucky enough to find Chris was very local to me and, after having an informal chat to discuss my needs,I was more than happy to book a course of lessons. Chris is always very encouraging and positive and pushes me to do what he knows I can achieve. His lessons are relaxed and varied and he uses books that are of a high standard, which makes learning new pieces of music very enjoyable. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning the piano as a new skill or maybe going back to it after many years, like myself. More...
