What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photograph is getting to know your clients and understanding what makes them unique. The second most important element is planning. We take a lot of time prior to each session to help our clients prepare and guide them in the right direction regarding what to expect, clothing, props locations etc.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I have a very detailed checklist and set of "homework" items that I provide to each new client in preparation for our session. This helps to simplify our planning process and provides a framework for the session. I also offer my clients tips on clothing styles that work well for photography sessions. A little planning goes a long way.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people, connecting with them and providing them with a lifetime of memories. Often people say that it seems I have a personal connection to the people in my photos. I love that the images express that.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business by my Dad who started a small auto repair business when I was young. I grew up watching him work very hard and take great pride in his work. I am very proud to call him my Dad.

I capture images with my heart…and always with my clients in mind. The connection built with clients allows me to create captures unique to their family. We begin each session with a personal consultation and walk through all the planning details together. I’ll help you decide on attire and even help determine where you’ll hang your portraits.
