Christian was the photographer for my husband's and my August 12th wedding. I cannot recommend him highly enough. We chose Christian because we have been to weddings where the photographer was obtrusive, stopping people in the middle of dancing to take posed photos. In contrast, Christian's philosophy is to be unobtrusive (he accurately describes himself as a photography ninja) and capture special moments. His pictures completely delivered on that ethos. The few posed group shots are great, but the photos of my husband and me during the ceremony, and of us dancing with our family and friends during the reception, are spectacular. I don't remember seeing Christian for most of the night, but he captured every important moment with beautiful lighting and composition that feels both artistic and completely natural. We have had friends and family texting us about how outstanding our wedding photos are. My husband and I got married at the Old Round Church and had our reception at The West Monitor Barn in Richmond, VT. Throughout the wedding planning process, I was extremely particular about the photography. As an amateur photographer, I wanted nothing less than perfection. With Chris as our photographer, he exceeded even my highest expectations with ease. He seamlessly navigated a very large wedding party, torrential downpours, and some reluctant children. Numerous guests have complimented us on Chris’ work and his ability to unobtrusively capture the emotions of the day. His photographs are works of art and he truly is a master at his craft. Christian Arthur was simply FANTASTIC. Chris is personable and genuine, and unlike other photographers we met with, his focus was on getting to know our story and our preferences rather than pushing a photo package. When the day arrived, he was an amazing ninja. I have no idea how he managed singlehandedly to be everywhere at once, yet completely unobtrusive. He has a great eye for lighting and arrangement, and captured lots of beautiful detail shots as well as funny, touching, and spontaneous interactions between people. Chris is AMAZING! He was fantastic to work with from start to finish, and the photos are incredible. They capture the day so well and I know we'll treasure them for years to come.
We got along with him really well - he has a great sense of humor and really got what we were going for, and he was very professional, responsive to email, and unobtrusive throughout the day. He was also happy to hike through the woods to get the perfect shot for us!
The turnaround was excellent - a sneak peak photo by text within a few days, a Facebook album of about 30 images after a week, and the full set just under 3 weeks after the wedding. We also did an engagement shoot with him the previous March in the woods in 14 degree (F) weather, and he somehow managed to keep us both alive and smiling the entire time, with some amazing photos as a result!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Chris for our August 2016 Vermont wedding. We were planning our wedding from overseas in Australia and after our first Skype meeting with Chris, we felt fully confident that we had picked the right photographer. On our wedding day, Chris was an absolute pleasure. He was everywhere and nowhere all at once! Past reviewers have called him a 'ninja' and I would completely agree. He was able to capture photographs without distracting from the moment and that was made even more clear to us when we saw our final images. The photos are incredibly beautiful and many times we said 'wow, we didn't even know he was there!'. He was prompt with communication and we had our pictures back within two weeks. Chris was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish! We do not live local to Vermont, and he was able to fully work with us from long distance leading up to our wedding. He was so patient, understanding, helpful, and the utmost pleasure to work with! All of our guests throughout the night kept saying how they forgot he was even there, and they knew that he was taking some great shots!We just got our pictures back, and I cannot say anything BETTER about his work. My husband and I spent an hour going through all of the shots, and we felt like we were living the day all over again! He truly captured our personalities, the look and feel of our wedding, and got some of the best photographs of each of us that I have ever seen. My husband was not very interested in the wedding planning, but was insistent that we used Christian as our photographer and I'm so glad that he was. Christian was our photographer for our engagement shoot and our wedding and we both could not be more pleased with all of our photographs. He is excellent with communication and truly takes your requests seriously. Our favorite aspect of our photos was that they became are in the sense that he made you part of the picture. We've had so many friends rave about our photographs and compliment his style and professionalism. We LOVED Chris! Not only are his photos gorgeous, but he was a true pleasure to work with. From the beginning he was very prompt, professional and quick via email. He was thorough and organized and did an amazing job with our engagement photos. He answered all our questions honestly and it never felt like he was trying to sell us something, but that he truly loves what he does and wanted us to be happy. At our wedding he honored all our special requests and additionally checked with us to make sure we didn't have anything else we wanted captured. He was AMAZING with our large groups, calm and efficient while still making sure everyone was included. He went through our formal photos at a good pace (though we never felt rushed) and made sure he was capturing everything without repositioning arms or heads so we all looked very natural. Mid-way through our ceremony he had photos up on a laptop for us and our guests to view and then had a sneak peak ready just a few days later! I highly recommend Chris. He was incredibly professional throughout our planning process, responded to emails promptly and just generally made me feel comfortable that he was going to show up on our big day and do a great job. On the day of, I loved his unobtrusive approach. We didn't want to spend half of our day taking pictures and Chris made that happen. Even so, he made sure we got all of our must-have pictures. Most importantly, our pictures came out beautifully and we have gotten tons of compliments on them. I think that choosing a photographer is probably the most important part of your wedding as the pictures are one of the only things you have left at the end of the day - know that if you choose Chris, you will be happy with your choice in the end.
