I have been training with Chris over a year and I have lost over 2 stone in weight!! I have tried previous personal trainers but nothing compares to Chris he will give you 100% in terms of nutritional information and give you a dedicated workout routine that works for you. I was nervous when I initially started training with Chris as it had been a while since I’d done any training and I wanted to focus on strength and exercise for well-being. I was worried that he might be the trainer that’s super critical of your diet or choices but in fact he’s the complete opposite! He can provide guidance and advice but is respectful and understanding at the same time. In the first few months of working with him 2x week I noticed an increase in strength, energy levels and even lost some weight too (was not a goal of mine but didn’t mean I didn’t have a few to loose!). Overall I highly recommend Chris, he is professional, friendly and most of all makes me feel comfortable. Something that can be difficult when you’re exercising/feeling vulnerable. More...

Couldn't recommend Chris enough. For over 2 years he has helped me gain strength, manage chronic back conditions that I have and will go above and beyond to research conditions that he is unsure of to have a better understanding and will adapt training sessions to suit these. The difference in my back in the past 2 years is unbelievable, from having no feeling in my leg and needing crutches constantly having to cut sessions short due to pain, to now being able to complete full sessions and not needing crutches. He is as invested in your goals just as much as you and will do anything he can to help you reach them. He never judges you for anything and best of all will celebrate your victories with you! Chris is the best coach and trainer anyone could ask for. I started training with Chris in August 2020 and the last 20 months has been such a rewarding and an equally enjoyable journey. I have lost over 2 stones, nothing was drastic or rushed, but in a steady pace with great support on healthy eating which has become a lifestyle now. When I initially joined Chris, I was on a knee and back rehab with physio. Chris is very knowledgeable and he came up with not only with a great rehab but also strengthening programme and going from being constantly in pain and stress, I can honestly say that I am so relieved and lot more healthy. It’s a long term journey for me personally and I enjoy every minute of training. None of this would have been possible if it was not for such a passionate trainer standing by your side, who never does it as a job but with care! I would recommend Chris to anyone and everyone! What can I say, he's absolutely boss! I've trained with Chris for around 18 months - 2 years in two separate blocks, and not only does he put you on the straight and narrow within the gym, he doesn't half change you life outside with nutrition & better lifestyle choices. When I started with Chris for the second time, just after the Coronavirus lockdown, I had no direction, I had a vague idea of what to do within a gym but as for structuring or feeling confident inside one, there was none of that. I had a particular goal in mind but I didn't think in my wildest dreams I could get to that point. Before lifting a weight or stepping on the scales, Id told him of previous injuries in the last few years that happened since I was last with him and we decided before going for that goal, we needed to look at strengthening those weaker areas. He tailored the initial program to suit that before we changed it up to focus on my then goal. After what must've been close to 6-8 months, we started to break through the barrier and started knocking on the door of that goal. We trained three times a week, and honestly I can say he is the best person I've worked with not just in a gym, but in life. A PT who goes above and beyond for his clients, even now that I'm not with him, still checking in to make sureI don't slip into my old bad habits or lose the progress and gains we made. Was with Chris for around a year. His knowledge and experience blew my mind. He knows how every muscle works including all their names! I struggle to remember one! He knows exactly how to improve your own personal diet to achieve the best results. I couldn't recommend anyone else.If it wasn't for my job and availability, I would have continued with Chris for many months more. Chris is an absolutely exceptional personal trainer who is 100% capable of getting you the results you're after. Even if you've already had some experience with fitness, his knowledge and expertise is top notch, he'll help you to improve in lots of different ways which will see you skyrocket to new heights. I had been training on my own for a while and lost a significant amount of weight, but struggled to lose the rest and was stuck. After seeing Chris though, I was able to achieve this easily. I have been training with Chris 1-1 for one year now twice a week and have achieved amazing results over that time. Chris is an excellent trainer- he is friendly, motivational and knowledgeable. Raise the Bar is a great gym to train in too, the atmosphere is laid-back and supportive.I never thought I would be the 'type of person' to lift weights but I am in the best shape of my life and I am so happy for it. I looked for a personal trainer online and I just kept coming back to Chris Walker. His reviews spoke wonders. At the time, I was travelling, was overweight and feeling miserable about myself and had no consistency, routine or exercise. I knew if I just went to the gym, I'd be lost and overwhelmed. I wanted to invest in myself and most of all, be educated. After some research, Chris was the obvious choice.I managed to lose 2kg by myself then I started with Chris. From day 1, he told me what to eat and when, and I saw an instant change. He makes you realise that nutrition is such a big part of the process and that you need to put time and effort in to your eating if you want to see results. Our sessions in Raise The Bar gym were pretty intense but never too much. I felt a sense of achievement as each week, the weights I'd use would creep up and I'd get stronger. Each step of the way, Chris would explain the technique so I would never feel overwhelmed, but instead confident and with a good understanding of the movements. This led to me going to the gym twice a week independently to build on the work we were doing, and to grow my confidence. A few years ago, I would never have walked into the weights section, as it can be so intimidating, but now I don't even bat an eyelid! I know what I'm doing and how to do it, and that confidence and knowledge has come from education from Chris. Before I knew it, I was doing pull ups with no assistance (the day before my 30th birthday! A big goal of mine) and lifting more than my bodyweight in a back squat.There are a lot of excellent PTs in Raise The Bar but Chris seems to have that edge when it comes to attention to detail. He thrives on his clients' progress, their understanding of exercises and their increased confidence.Chris keeps it real. He puts responsiblity on to you to be proactive but he doesn't make you feel bad if you're up on your next weigh in - he's realistic and believes in a balance. Following his plan, I was able to indulge over Chrismas and STILL keep losing weight.Overall, I came down by 8kg and 1-2 dress sizes. My confidence went through the roof. I had to buy new clothes and thrown out old clothes that no longer fit. I felt strong and fit. I received endless compliments. I felt in control doing my own workouts. I knew how to eat well.So many people asked how I'd managed to make such a drastic change, that a total of FIVE family members and friends also signed up with Chris and began PT sessions. What a vote of confidence!I stopped coming to Chris as I relocated down South but my time working with him has given me the foundations I need to stay in shape for the rest of my life. Chris is an excellent personal trainer I am made up with my sessions with him even tho I've only been training for about 2 weeks I'm made up with my progression. Chris makes me feel really comfortable and most importantly he understands my goals and where I want to progress too. I would definitely recommend chris to anyone !! He's really motivating during sessions, pushing me to do the best I can. Chris is very supportive outside the gym aswell as he's always there to answer any questions I have which is great. I've been training with Chris for the past 8 weeks and had the most life changing experience I could of ever imagined!

I'm a mum of a 9 and 5 year old who always had that excess belly and body fat that I could never shift. Even though I go training myself I didn't know where I was going wrong.
Chris has gave me the support and guidance to get me where I am today. He's full of endless knowledge, experience and always open to questions in and out of work. He's always smiling, making me laugh and ALWAYS pushes me to the max, there's never a dull moment!
I would never have got where I am today if It wasn't for him. I would 100% recommend Chris to anyone.
I've learnt so much from him that I will take away with me to carry my journey on.....

I couldn't have found myself a better PT! Chris straight from the off has been professional and 100% focused on me and my goals. For someone who has a terrible time going to the gym and not understanding a thing about training, Chris made me feel completely at ease and made sure I understood everything that I was doing and why I was doing it. The knowledge he has is incredible, he is like a walking talking bible of everything fitness related. He blew my mind every session with new and useful hints and tips that you would never even think of using that are so beneficial! There was never a dull moment, we always laughed, or chatted about strange and wonderful stories. It never really felt like I was training hard because it was so relaxed, although my body definitely knew I was training hard, and Chris made sure it was too!

After being with him for 8 weeks not only have I seen amazing results but I feel better in myself in every way. I feel so much more confident to be able to continue training on my own now that he has educated me in every way possible! He is an incredible motivator and a genuinely lovely and easy-going guy, I honestly cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me.

I started with Chris earlier on this year and immediately warmed to his professional and personal manner. He's approachable and knowledgeable and encouraged me to ask any questions I may have.
Having tried training before with another provider I was apprehensive at first as my first experience had left me unsatisfied. I needn't have worried - I found Chris to be encouraging without being patronising and his workouts were well planned and suited to the individual.
I noticed a definite increase in my fitness levels and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere Chris created in the group. I will miss his witty one liners! I unfortunately had to stop coming to sessions due to work commitments and I must say I miss them a lot. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris Walker Fitness to friends and family.

I had been obese for the last 8 years of my life. My everyday life had constant restrictions and I decided I couldn't continue to live like this. 8 months ago I came to the UK to be close to family members in an attempt to change my life and I started a healthy diet. But it was only when I met Chris Walker that I believed I can make the change.
Chris listened to me, understood my personal situation, agreed to my goals and planned a specific training program. In every single session he knew how to support me, how to guide me through the exercises and push me when I thought I couldn't make it. Even in my bad days he had only good comments to say to make me feel good and this was very encouraging to keep me going. I was looking forward to my sessions because Chris has the unique skill to make you feel that you are not going to the gym but going somewhere to have fun. Day by day I could see my body dropping pounds off and my strength and posture increasing. I started believing in myself again.
Now my journey has come to its end. I lost 5.5 stones and I have gained an incredible body strength. I turned my life upside down and I can dream again. Going back to my homeland I have not words to thank enough Chris Walker for his contribution to my success. Without him by my side I would have probably stopped early. His character, his personality, let alone his personal training knowledge and skills undoubtedly helped me to achieve my goal.
I cannot recommend enough Chris to anybody who wishes to make a change in their lives and start training. Chris is the best personal trainer and the most cheerful guy I have ever met.

I have been training with chris for over a year now in both group sessions and 121 and love it. Chris is very knowledgeable, professional and is always happy � he is also very approachable, you can text him with any questions/guidance and he will always reply.

I have learnt a lot from my sessions and now feel much more confident in the gym doing my own workouts. Chris helps me to keep motivated and has also provided me with good nutritional advice to maintain and lose weight.

As two reasonably fit 64 year olds, my wife and I signed up for two sessions a week with Chris, after a recommendation by our daughter. That was over a year ago and we're still squatting and chin-upping with the best - and Chris is the best. He knows his stuff inside out, explains the reasons for and mechanics of each exercise and, above all, he is annoyingly cheerful all the time, especially early in the morning. We have both achieved our goals of weight loss and muscle gain, and have actually had fun doing it, although I don't recommend squatting heavy weights whilst laughing.In summary, Chris Walker is an excellent fitness trainer and a top bloke too. Mind you, his taste in music is definitely iffy.Len and Adrienne ParsonsPS: Perhaps Chris's most important quality for his clients is his ENCOURAGEMENT. started with Chris a number of months ago. I was nervous at first and he made me feel 100 per cent comfortable straight away. My issue had always been dropping weight to quickly whilst training, I had 2 other previous pt's which I left after a couple of weeks because they didn't take on board what I had told them. In my consultation with Chris, he listened and understood exactly what I meant and explained what we needed to do to achieve my goals, am now gaining the weight I wanted at a healthy pace whilst toning up at the same time. Thanks to chris I look better and feel better. He is 100 percent committed to you and loves seeing the progress you make week by week just as much as you do yourself, always there to motivate you and keep you focused both inside and outside the gym and will keep you moving forward towards your goal, pushing you to achieve things you never thought you could. Chris comes into my workplace each week to deliver a 30 minute HIIT class. He has a skill for making you feel comfortable and he is so motivating, you can't help but have a laugh during his class. Having trained for many years with numerous gyms and instructors I felt that I had become complacent in my workouts. This made me to look for an alternative training method. Only started training with Chris 5 weeks ago and feel so much fitter(my waist, belly and legs are toning up nicely). He is so motivated and puts a lot of effort into each session, helping you improve your technique whether it be in lifting weights or mat work. I started with Chris earlier on this year and immediately warmed to his professional and personal manner. He's approachable and knowledgeable and encouraged me to ask any questions I may have. <br />Having tried training before with another provider I was apprehensive at first as my first experience had left me unsatisfied. I started training in one of Chris' group sessions about 6 weeks ago. I was quite nervous having not trained for a few months but Chris and the other girls in the session made it so much easier. Within 4 weeks I had already lost over an inch around my waist and belly. Chris is absolutely amazing. He is really supportive and is always happy to give you any helpful advice.
