I am a 65 year old female who was suffering quite severe pain in my left knees and pain as needle in my feet as a result of arthritis and general wear and tear from running and other sports activities. After suddenly becoming numb down my left side, and with little help from my GP, I visited Dr Max. After only a few sessions of acupuncture and massage, most of the feeling has returned to my left side. I went to see him because around 10 years ago he treated my mother for hip pain, and did a wonderful job, curing her within a few sessions.I would recommend Dr Max to anyone struggling with pain, and not wanting to rely on pain killers which can have adverse effects on the body. I went to Mr Max on crutches having had a serious accident with multiple injuries which were re-injured by second and third accidents. The first accident resulted in extreme weakness of my right leg which made it so unsteady that it would suddenly destabilise and cause me to fall. It therefore provided occasion for the other accidents to happen. Each accident was excruciatingly painful. The photos horrified those who saw them.

Five weeks after the first accident I was concerned that remedial treatment with the NHS had not properly begun. This was attributable to the nature of the situation rather than any fault of the staff. They were excellent. Nevertheless, I judged that the injuries would require an immediate, intensive intervention on a regular basis, otherwise there would have been the danger of knee-lock. In addition, I was totally unable to raise my right leg when lying on my back which made me think that the paralysis might have been permanent. This caused me to be alarmed.

Dr Max was able to offer the kind of remedial treatment that I was seeking. I visited his clinic every day for over 3 weeks for intensive sessions. It soon became evident that his expertise was very impressive. He augmented acupuncture by his extraordinary skill in body manipulation. Moreover, he was able to answer every question I posed with his considerable professional knowledge. He was always focused once treatment was in progress.

I noted significant progress over the timescale of just over 3 weeks. He has brought me to a state in which the basis has been laid for a complete recovery though this will take time. If it had been possible to prolong my treatment I would not have hesitated but I am now in a much better state thanks to Dr Max.

I am deeply grateful that he was able to offer me this treatment. His unique approach is a great asset to the North East of England. I highly recommend him. More...

I was recently visiting my sister in South Shields, she recommended me to get some relax treatment in this clinic and learned they did acupuncture. And the owner was a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor practiced acupuncture for more than 30 years. So i decide to get treatment for my back pain that has been persistent for many years. Now, i am one of those people who dont believe in these alternative medicine nor do i like needles (haha).. but hey, it was like only £35 for an hour long session.. so i decided to give it a try. First of all, it was not painful at all. Cant even feel the needles. I guess they use these new disposable thin needles which was only used once and they are so thin and i couldnt feel it going in my body. Oh and the doctor asked me about my pain before she told me where and how she would treat me. Basically, i had a bunch of needles in my lower back and some on my neck and hand. I thought it was strange since it was my first time. But hey, no backing out now. And I am so glad i did it! My back pain is gone! I am not even joking. Years of learning over, slouching, working and studying over the computer.. and one session of acupuncture cleared my back pain. I dont know how long it will last. Last September I started to loose my voice. I went to see and ENT specialist. He said there was nothing wrong with my throat but my vocal chords had sort of seized up. Yesterday was my last session of a four month treatment and I have to say that I am super impressed with my experience here! All of the employees are extremely knowledgeable in their field. I was treated for Endometriosis and IBS, along with headaches and chronic lower back pain. Within the first 2 weeks, I noticed a huge turn around in my emotional and physical state. I cannot say that I'm 100% cured, but sometimes we are given things in life that we cannot completely rid. I can however say that the majority of my ailments are 80-90% better and to me that's amazing!! The price is a little steep, but it's totally worth it.
