Matthew was on time, explained my issues thoroughly, and give me pointers moving forward so that I could service the unit myself. Marcus was amazing! We have been meaning to write a review since the polar vortex. Our heating went out because it was -20 degrees outside. He came over same day and found a way to fix the hvac system that the previous HVAC company said needed to be totally replaced and was here until 9:30 on a Friday. We used Chicago Heating & Cooling 1 Corp twice last year -- they installed a furnace and later on an a/c, both American Standard. Excellent work, outstanding customer service. Many of the contractors we've used over the years have done good work but communicated poorly -- company is excellent in this regard. Very clear and complete explanations, immediate call back, same day service if the situation is urgent, very smart, considerate and personable repair people and receptionist. These guys are knowledgeable and most importantly they are honest. We had our water heater break and we had one installed by 9pm. I’ve never felt they are trying to sell me something I don’t need. So they get my business every time! We even bought from and had Matt install our new furnace. My furnace decided to stop working this afternoon - 25 degrees outside and Christmas Eve. CH&C returned my call immediately, and had someone out in less than two hours. Luckily my problem was the igniter and he had stocked up so he had one in his truck. I can’t thank Scott enough for his work. With the type of heating system I have (boiler with baseboard radiators throughout 3 floors) I've had highly rated plumbers turn me down for service requests. When my AC (a nearly 20-year old unit) started blowing warm air on a hot Chicago summer day, I called Matt and his team, and they immediately explained a few options and expected prices on the phone. They were available almost immediately, quickly diagnosed the problem, and described my two options: (1) Apply a leak sealant and refill the coolant, or (2) replace the whole AC unit. This said, they were not pushy about the second option, which would have meant more money for them. They were very up front about expected results with option 1 (mainly addressing my concerns that the AC might just end up going out in the next few years due to its age). In the end, I did go with option 1. This work (including the time to diagnose and work out a solution) was completed within an hour of their arrival, and so far it has been one week and there have been no apparent issues. More...

My air conditioning failed and it was 88 degrees in my home. My two small kids and wife were not happy. Contacted Matt based on the online reviews of prior happy customers. Matt came over the next day and diagnosed the problem immediately. Went over the problem with me, explained how my system worked and what I needed to do in the future to keep everything running great, so I could easily understand -- he had the piece needed in his work van, efficiently repaired and replaced and all at a very reasonable cost. What a life saver! Matthew is honest, trustworthy, hard working, dedicated, and reliable. I cannot recommend him enough. I will not ever use any other company! I contacted Matthew after someone from Topline heating and cooling came out to my place 3 times to try to fix my furnace - after paying them over $1000 they were still unable to fix my heater. They told me I needed a new furnace for $4,200 and tried to get me to commit to buying it on the spot in the middle of winter. I called Matthew from Chicago Heating and Cooling 1 Corp to get a second opinion and I am so grateful that I did. He was wonderful. He came over that evening because he was in the area. He was kind and it was immediately apparent that he was very knowledgable. He showed me how to do basic home maintenance and quickly realized that the other company was scamming me. There was nothing wrong with my furnace except my own failure to replace my filter for over a year which caused the furnace to over heat. Apparently, when the other company came over instead of giving me an honest assessment they purposely cut and re-wired my heater to make it malfunction - all so they could charge me and then convince me to buy a new furnace. Matthew took photos of the evidence of the scam so that I could try to get my money back from the other guys. He then fixed the faulty wiring, cleaned up my furnace, and had it running in no time. I put in a new filter and it has worked perfectly since then. All for $200. I can't thank Matthew enough! He is honorable and honest and takes his work seriously. I will not be going anywhere else.
