I love this place it makes the best cakes but my mom and dad told me that in my first birthday they ordered a cake but the bakery for got the order so they had to order it again and they had to make it in a day

I'm from the Midwest so I had to stop by and get the atomic cake. It was authentic and delicious. All the layers were extremely fresh and I ordered same day. It took about 4 hours from order to pickup. I also love their tres leches cake. I just got a slice but it was so good I had to take all my friends back here for more... in the same day. More...

My place of work asked me to pick up a cake for our celebration of the June 14th U.S. Army Birthday. On Monday, I stopped at the Chicago Bakery to place an order and the staff were extraordinarily helpful. They worked with me to help choose the design, size and flavor. They also promised to have everything ready by the time I came to pick it up later in the week.  When I arrived Thursday morning, they were again excellent in their service. I asked for a slight modification of the cake design and the staff were able to make the change on the spot. They also professionally boxed up the cake and I was able to transport it from Silver Spring, MD, to Arlington, VA, without a single blemish. The cake was perfect (Straw-Banana Atomic) and numerous coworkers spoke about how much they enjoyed it! By the end of our event, there was no leftovers. Now, a day later, I still have coworkers stop me in the hall and tell me how much they enjoyed the cake. My office will definitely use this bakery again and I highly recommend it to others! More...

My daughter's birthday was may 12 and we wanted a special cake. After calling different places in the Gaithersburg Area. We decided to go with Chicago bakery. They were professional and friendly. The cake came out exactly like we wanted and it was delicious. We got the napolitano flavor on the cake. It was moist and very tasty. Excellent!  I was desperately looking for a place like this for my husbands birthday.  We needed chocolate mousse and we got chocolate mousse!  They were able to make my cake in less than 24 hours and it was very reasonably priced.  I will definitely go back! More...

I've been here a couple of times and I've been very happy with my experience. The staff is nice and the bakery goods are great! I always leave with a full bag of pastries. The prices are really good! You could get yourself a 3 large pastries for the same price of 2 small ones at starbucks. It's also a mom n pop so check them out! You can't miss them. RED RED RED. More...

Chicago Bakery provided our wedding cake this past weekend, it was exceptional. I stumbled upon this bakery when I was looking for an engagement cake for a friend. We did a white cake with strawberry filling and cream frosting. It was moist, sweet, and breast ably priced. We received so many compliments on the appearance as well as the taste. We had some slight confusion about pillars- I didn't love them but I loved the cake. Since they were recommended by the bakery due to the weight of the cake from all of the filling, I completely agreed. When I arrived at the hall, I noticed there were no pillars. I was so excited to find pastelitos at Mayorga Coffee and was told they were from here, so put it on my list of places to check out. The shop is very close to University Blvd and Georgia Ave, so parking is a bit of an issue, but if you can get to it, the pastries are very fresh and varied. We tried the tres leches cake, which was super yummy and the cake tasted like it had been made that morning. We've been going to this cozy Latino bakery for almost 5 years now, and they have the best boudin or bread pudding in the area! We got our wedding cake from Chicago Bakery and it was perfect. We wanted a cake for 90 people that was light and delicious, something decorated simply so that the florist could put flowers on it. The cake was two tiers of their regular cake with a chocolate custard filling and whipped cream icing. It was absolutely delicious!! All our guests loved it, kids and adults. The cake delivery to the reception hall was punctual, friendly and professional, and allowed the florist who came to deliver the flowers and decorate the cake plenty of time to add the flowers on top. When we compared the cost of the cake plus the flowers to a decorated cake from one of those "wedding cake" bakeries, it was very reasonably priced. And from the tasting I did, I can tell you the Chicago Bakery cake tasted a lot better! Highly recommended. More...
