The food was definitely on the upper-end of quality when compared to other middle-eastern restaurants I have eaten at. The rice was spiced very nicely. The garlic sauce was creamier than other ones I've had, which was different, but I liked it a lot. I also liked the sumac on the hummus. I'm from Ontario, and that is not very common in Ontario (at least not where I've eaten), but I think it adds a good flavour to the hummus. Also, the baklava was dense and had a lot of nuts in it. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Haliafx with no doubt. I have been to the restaurant too many times and never was disappointed. Steady food quality and service no matter what time you go.I have tried most of the menu items so far and I can confidently recommend Chef Abod. They have great lunch special with variety to choose from.The customer service: outstanding and never disappointed. Chef Abod himself is a very polite gentleman and he comes out from time to time. John is another story, highly skilled and very decent in dealing with customers. Very tasty middle eastern, syrian restaurant. The lamb mandi is a favorite. Fall off the bone, juicy and tender lamb shank with a charcoal and cardomom scented rice. Pair with the appetizer plate for a sampling of smaller items. The portions are quite generous and you can usually split one meal or have lots of leftovers. Whenever we are visiting kempt road, we always eat there, not only because the service is very good but also the chicken mandi, lamb curry and sweets are very tasty and you can taste arabic seasonings on it. Love to always coming back!

They have the best lamb (mandi, kebob, kabsa) in the city - I drive all the way from the valley for their food. Great service, offers delivery- huge value in terms of portions vs. Price.
