Its nearly a year ago that my mum was at kings lodge. The manager Karen and her staff., especially the nurses were fantastic looking after my mum. They are amazing and the home is warm, inviting, modern, clean and just an amazing place for the elderly to live and be safe. Hope to re visit soon. My mum was at Kings Lodge for the last 10 days of her life. She was very poorly throughout and declined very swiftly. She passed away very peacefully. This nursing home is a shining example of how care can be delivered to the elderly and frail. Mum felt relaxed and safe here. All the staff are friendly, communicate well, courteous and kind. The nurses - one at night two during the day - are experienced, knowledgeable and extremely professional, going the extra mile and responding very swiftly on several occasions. The carers are good at their job, thoughtful, respectful and proactive. The patient:carer ratios are good enough so that the carers are not too hard pressed to do a thorough job with time to be kind as well. The whole place is clean and calm and cheery. The support staff - cleaners, laundry lady, maintenance man and kitchen staff are clearly respected members of the team. This means that they seem to feel valued and work hard to carry out their duties with care and concern. The manager appears to have a good relationship with her staff and is clearly leading them well. The reception/admin ladies are key to this place running smoothly. The way mum spent her final few days could not have been better. The staff made every effort to get things just right for her in every way. She had a 'good end' and this is mainly thanks to Kings Lodge. They looked after me well too - making such a huge difference at a very difficult time. I would be very happy to recommend Kings Lodge to anyone considering residential care for an elderly person. More...
