I really enjoy Amira Haidary's yoga-inspired workout on the reformer. This crossover class is really unique because the carriage of the reformer essentially gives you a moving yoga mat and allows you to get much deeper into the postures. I found Centered Body by chance as I was driving past after getting off work (coming from Caltrain, 22nd St station). I bought both their introductory packages for private sessions and group classes, which is a great deal if you want to try out pilates! Although I think pilates is just an expensive form of exercise in general, it really is worth it if you find a great studio. Centered Body has great 1:1 (they also offer 1:2) sessions and small group classes. I really enjoy working with Roxann, she pays close attention to form and is just super personable! She always asks how my body is feeling and comes up with workout that is tailored to your interests and goals for that particular session. The classes only have 5 reformers so you get a lot of attention from the instructors. The studio is clean and a spacious enough for the services they offer.If you were wondering about location:It is kind of in an interesting location because there’s apartment complexes and it’s tucked in between some offices/start ups. Parking isn’t an issue, well at least on the weekends and in the evenings on the weekdays.Overall, I highly recommend you check this studio out :)! More...

I just moved to the neighborhood and started taking private lessons at Centered Body Pilates. My plan is to get my technique down so I can start taking some of the classes offered here. My experience so far has made me re-fall in love with pilates again. The instructors here are super thoughtful, and push you at the right pace. I love how they actually explain the rationale behind the stretches and exercises you do, and how it all fits into the bigger picture of your body's overall flexibility and strength. And, in case you were wondering, the machines are in tip-top condition and the place is immaculately clean. I always leave my sessions feeling awesome about myself and the progress I'm making every session. It's been a fantastic compliment to my weight training sessions with my personal trainer, I cannot recommend it enough! More...

I am a certifeid Pilates instructoe (PMA-CPT) visitng my daughter in California. I had the luck and pleasure of meeting with Oona. Oona and her staff made me feel welcome. The studio has a peaceful and positive vibe. I have been taking Pilates classes with my wife for about five years at the Centered Body studio in Potrero Hill. We take private lessons with Oona. She is a very experienced and capable instructor with knowledge of the body that goes well beyond Pilates. She tailors each session to whatever little ache or pain my wife or I happen to be feeling that week. She is very careful to make sure we get the maximum benefit each week. On top of that, she is a delightful person. The new studio is spacious, clean, light, and has all the up to date equipment. We have also trained under other instructors including Honorine, Sonya, and Allison. They have been excellent as well. No matter who we have, we always feel better at the end of the class and are glad we took the time to come in. I have nothing but praise for this business and they have my highest recommendation. I cannot speak highly enough about Oona and her staff. At the suggestion of my wife and because I have a herniated disc in my lower back, I started training with Oona about a year and a half ago.
