Pretty good chopped bbq sandwich at a cheap price. I've never ordered anything else though and i always get it togo because i don't think bbq places should really have servers. I laughed the first time they tried to "seat" me. I ain't tipping no one for bbq, sorry if that sounds rude lol. The atmosphere was great. Family friendly and the staff was great. My family can be needy at times (especially when we have a 5 year old in tow) and they didn't bat an eye at any of our requests (even getting him his own plate of bacon). I had the pulled pork sandwich which was great. The BBQ sauce on the table was sweet and a little peppery which is just how I like it. The cole slaw is mayonnaise based (I think) which isn't too bad but it wasn't my favorite thing (which could be due to a medication I'm on that makes things taste off). I love this place! My Husband usually gets the Pulled Pork and says it is some of the best he has ever had and that says alot considering his company was based out of Memphis and traveled alot as well. Not only is this place extremely clean, the BBQ amazing but hard rock royalty owns it. 99.5 KISS royalty Chuck Stanley brings awesome food and decorates the walls with years of rock tour posters and awards.

I was working in New Braunfels on Friday January 26th and decided to try something new so I walked in and was immediately greeted by a smiling face who sat me down and my waitress was very informative and kind. The wait was not long at all and the food was delicious. I had the sausage taco. As I was leaving, the owner was kind as well asking about my experience and gave me a to go menu. My family and I visited CBQ a few days ago. We actually had a bad experience at a place next door and ended up here. We walked in a few minutes before closing. On a normal occasion we wouldn't do this but three hungry kids left no choice. We were so aggravated about the place we had just left. My husband and I were both in bad moods. Everyone at CBQ was very Friendly. Trinity, our waitress, took her time with the menu explaining everything. She even got the gluten free menu for my daughter and me. She and the kitchen were both very knowledgeable on what items to stay away from to avoid being cross contaminated or even glutened.
She sat and talked to us. She left us just vent. She played with our kids a little bit. Then she told us the history of CBQ. I was so excited that we ended up there because it's locally owned.
Even though we got there last minute the food was hot and fresh. My husband loved the coleslaw. I like the brisket and sausage. The green beans had a nice kick but not too spicy. They have an extra spicy BBQ sauce. I didn't try it. Trinity did mention it had gluten in it and to stay away from it. We were also told if we come back and wanted to bring our own gluten free sauce that was highly encouraged.
The manager was the nicest person. Very friendly and kind. He had smile on his face the whole time. Due to having only a few workers he has been pulling doubles, but you would never know that. He didn't seem tired. They never rushed us and encouraged us to take our time and don't worry about rush out. They told us that a few times. The service was great. We will definitely be going back. From out of town, I always try to find the local establishments. I just left here and had an enjoyable time and dinner. Had good conversations with both the bar keep and Chuck, Sr. The pulled pork and brisket were both very good and the combination of the mild and hot BBQ sauce was just right. The fried black eyed peas were different: Tasty, but the large serving was a little much. A smaller serving would be just fine. The mac and cheese was very good and creamy, too. I am a Brisket snob and this is almost as good as mine. Hands down best bbq in the area. I had a great local IPA and their sauce is amazing Creeping Death I need this in a Bottle for home. Great job CBQ!

Every meal my friends and I have had here has been great. The prices are good and the portions are large. The fried pickles are some of the best I have had. I don't care for mushrooms, but my wife loved theirs. Ordering here is a little different from the norm for a sit down restaurant. Order at the counter, pay, sit down and the server brings the food. Not that this matters, but guys, the waitresses wear short / shorts and are easy on the eyes. The place is a little hidden among other small restaurants and shops.
