Last night I attended an Influencers Event hosted by Tracy G. and Ian B. with great food and drinks were catered by the Family. Accompanying me were some of my best gal pals and we were all in unison -- the food was fantastic.The display was very festive and well laid-out. There were little sign holders that described each tray. It's the first weekend of November in Florida, so I really appreciated their fall touch with pumkins and autumn leaves across the tablescape. Each item served was hot and fresh and they somehow even managed to keep a COLOSSAL pot of Paella piping hot and delicious for hours as the event went on.Items I enjoyed thoroughly were:- Red/White Wine and other Beverages- Paella Ole: an Ybor tradition made with yellow rice, delicious chorizo sausage, shrimp, chicken, pork, mussels, peas and red peppers.- Mini Pressed Cubans: hot off the presses with layers of sliced roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles. Working with Sandy made the whole experience so easy - she has done so many events that it was about the same as having a wedding coordinator to ask questions/bounce ideas. They customize menus to fit my clients' budgets, tastes, and styles. Their creativity, flexibility, affordability and professionalism, are the main reasons why I continue to work with them. One example was a recent wedding that was truly awesome! Catering Captain Mike and the whole team did an incredible job!! Chef Stevie prepared food that was THE BEST I've ever tasted, and did an amazing job getting all the food out quickly, and it was presented beautifully and it was HOT! We used Catering By The Family for our daughters wedding recently. I can not say or write enough good things about the experience. But I will attempt to share a few of the highlights. This company although not as expensive as others delivers an event to rival any caterer in the Tampa Bay area and I would argue BEATS THEM ALL! Our 200 plus guest could not say enough good things about the food, the bar, wedding cake and service. We choose to have a family style meal instead of a buffet or platted meals. Although we received many declines from other caterers this company not only agreed to do it but they nailed it so much that it made the wedding perfect. The food was delicious, served hot and the staff was professional and incredibly friendly to the point guest specifically commented to us about it.From the tasting to the finish product Mr. Gonzalez, Erica and staff were wonderful. Lastly and most importantly we must recognize Stevie Gonzalez who hands down makes the best SHRIMP & GRITS, braised short ribs in the entire Tampa Bay area! This young man is so talented and the Gonzalez family is so fortunate to have that talent in its next generation to carry on its outstanding quality and service.Thank you to each person who was involved in making our daughters wedding one in which everyone whom attended said "the best wedding we've ever been to". Surprise 80th birthday party, First class operation from my first interaction until the conclusion of my event. The food was absolutely delicious. Spanish/Cuban food, yellow rice, black beans, mojo chicken, mojo pork, cuban bread, tossed salad with some delicious dressing. Coffee, tea, water, sodas, and we also ordered a beer and wine package adding sangria as well and a champagne toast. One of the things I was most pleased with , besides the food quality, and reasonable prices, was that I had almost nothing to do as they took care of everything from set up to clean up and even put up the decorations I bought.We had about 50 people and had a buffet meal on china with all the appropriate glassware for example china coffee cups and glass champagne glasses. We booked Catering by the Family after having issues with tastings. We would go to “group” or “event” tasting where we would sample food, but none of it was what we wanted. We were told we wouldn’t be able to taste what would be served at our wedding as what we wanted was not offered at the group tastings or events. We wanted Cuban or Spanish style food to fit our theme of Gasparilla and have local cuisine. It was very important to us to taste the food we would be paying for and having at our wedding so we did not want to book with a company where we didn’t taste the food. Juan had assured us we could try some of the food at our tasting. When we arrived, we were the only people there, which amazing because at group tastings we couldn’t find anyone to talk to and things got overwhelming. A table was set up in our colors just for us and Juan. I didn’t even tell him what our colors were; he just went with our theme. The settings were perfect. When it came time to do our tasting, so much food was brought out that we got to try all the Spanish food they had to offer. Everything tasted amazing. We booked right then and there. During year we emailed back and forth. Email replies were a little slow, which had me a little concerned. When it came to the wedding day, everything was perfect. Juan came out and greeted us, which I was so thankful for. That one small gesture meant a lot! I got so many people telling me the food was amazing and the wait staff and bartenders were so nice and wonderful! I even had a waiter come to us with plates with all the food offered at the buffet.
