I can't even begin to describe how impressed I was with Betsy and her staff at GMM for our wedding this past weekend. The venue is absolutely amazing, Betsy handled everything from receiving and coordinating with the vendors, to the setup, operation and tear down of every single detail. He vendor suggestions were spot on, and we had everyone telling us how beautiful it was and how wonderful everything came together. Thanks to Gold Mountain Manor for being the #1 wedding spot in Big Bear, and for making all of my dreams come true!! More...

Wow... what can say! We just had our wedding here on Sep 28, 2019 and I can't stop raving about this place. If you want a wilderness, forest, Nordic, country, rustic wedding venue this is the place to be! We are so happy with How everything turned out. Betsy and her crew are AMAZING! She is on top of it. Your stay, if you book your wedding here includes 7 bedrooms for two nights, Besty your wonderful coordinator and all around house momma, her crew, and breakfast is included both mornings ( and it is seriously the best on town! All homemade by Betsy). I could go on for hours about how great this place is, but please take my word for it. Go see it! You'll be sold. I was! More...

I recently attended a wedding here and I would say the venue is absolutely amazing. The staff was very attentive and beyond generous. They were so sweet and helpful throughout the entire event. There wasn't coffee being served at the wedding and one of the staff members went out of her way to grab our pastor's wife a coffee. If that's not excellent service I don't know what is. The bed and breakfast itself was beyond gorgeous for that rustic feel. Everything was perfect. I would totally recommend this place for a beautiful rustic wedding. More...

Betsy (owner & coordinator) made sure we were always in communication, she ordered all the rentals, made sure we had everything we needed and the day of completely took care of the scheduling and everything. It was amazing. The location is to die for. So adorable and beautiful. We got a rain scare but really had our hearts set on having the ceremony and reception outside in the yard and Betsy got us a tent ASAP and made it happen. It was beautiful and the sun ended up coming out toward the end. The staff was all amazing and extremely helpful. This place was such a great getaway!  My fiancee and I went for my birthday weekend and it was absolutely magical.  The whole place had just gotten a fresh dumping of snow the night before.  The driveway was cleared and the place looked so rustic and beautiful when we arrived.  Betsy is just the absolute sweetest person on the planet!  She's so helpful, friendly, gives great recommendations for local fun, and has such a sweet personality.  We loved her!  The first night we stayed, there was a little issue regarding the pipes freezing unexpectedly late in the evening.  Betsy had someone out the next morning to fix it and comped our room for the first night without us even asking.  She's the best!  The rest of our experience was magical and we'll definitely be back.  We highly recommend the place!! We felt like we were staying with family and the guests are all so respectful of one another. We stayed in the Clark Gable room, which was so fun! From the throwback 1940s cabin feel to the upgraded fireplace in room and comfy bedding, it was such a relaxing retreat to come "home" to after a day on the slopes. The breakfast was also DELICIOUS! Every day the options were so good I didn't even take pictures because I chowed down! The grounds are clean, kept up nicely and provide that woodsy feel that everyone looking for a mountain getaway from nearby LA city life is yearning for. Highly recommend! More...

I attended a summer wedding here and I totally get the quaint feel of the place. It totally feels like the cute cabin in the woods that you see in movies but with that rustic charm, creaking floorboards and some mustiness comes along with it. The staff was very accommodating and they even had homemade cookies for the guest that stayed. I think it was the owner (?) but she got the wedding party settled in well and with the craziness of things, I was very surprised that things ran fairly smoothly. The venue for the wedding was beautiful and picture perfect. Since it is outdoors, prepare bug spray as little things will crowd around your ankles and such. For guests that stayed overnight, those needing of assistance to walk up stairs or elderly should definitely stay downstairs. For those in wheelchairs, you'll need to be carried. The stairs to the upper rooms are very steep, narrow and the steps are fairly small. The rooms downstairs has steps up and down so be prepared for that.Wifi is available and given at the front desk/kitchen area but I was not able to log on. If the weather is hot, there isn't central AC but a fan is available in the rooms. Final Thoughts: I'm that one crazy person that has watched one too many ghost movies, creeped myself out but I love the old mountain feel of this place. This definitely is a beautiful place for a small wedding and pictures here come out beautifully (especially with the lighting and sun rays peeking through the trees) More...

Words cannot express how thankful of Betsy I'll ever be. I was a mess during the week of the wedding but thankfully Betsy was the blessing I had to help organize it all. She assisted in ordering most of the linens, bathroom situations and was there when I'd forget items. She had a plan B for pretty much all my worries. She recommended us Sweet Basil Bistro and we took the chance on not trying the food due to the drive. It was delicious. She also made several helpful suggestions regarding decor, set-up, and how much to buy/order of this or that. Our Rehearsal Dinner and our Wedding ran so smoothly because of Betsy and her team. I arrived and she showed me around the premises and even showed me a wilderness spot a few blocks behind the actual venue where I was able to capture some amazing " in the middle of nowhere" type photos. We absolutely loved this place! We stayed over this past weekend, for 2 nights, and it was wonderful. When you first walk in, there is a pool table in the front room with a nice fireplace, then a dining room and finally a 3rd room with another fireplace. There's a nice wraparound porch, with lots of comfortable chairs for days where it's warm enough to sit outside (it's also very private in this area so people on the street can't see you). We were greeted very warmly and shown around the house so we would feel comfortable. We stayed in the Clark Gable room & it was kept up very well from when he had stayed there for his honeymoon. I took a bath with the milk bath that they home-make. They also stock your room with wood and clean the furnace each morning so you don't have to!Our first breakfast was eggs benedict, with homemade yogurt and granola to start. Our second breakfast was an egg quiche. Both of the meals were delicious, and that yogurt was amazing! The kitchen is also always stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and popcorn for when you are feeling hungry. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, I see the name "Gold Mountain Manor" and I just want to go back! Our family stayed in the Manor over New Year's and we had a great time. Because we were a large party, Betsy, the owner, found us some places nearby in the neighborhood (a stone's throw away) that she also manages (forgive me if I'm not 100% correct) because the Manor was full during the time we were there. Betsy also always had coffee, tea and hot cocoa available and her breakfasts were deliciously memorable. The Manor was decorated beautifully for the holidays and overall had the warmest feeling, literally and figuratively. Sit by the fire with your book, play some board games with friends, shoot pool with your brother, or take a nice walk outside in the cozy neighborhood. This was a great location: Removed but near enough to town and to the ski slopes. Betsy and Peter were great in giving recommendations for time allowances and best places to go for lunch, etc. For one, she suggested that we get our ski gear the night before we wanted to ski to avoid long lines and she was completely right. The next morning we just jumped out of bed and got to the slopes. She also recommended the Big Bear Zoo and the Pines Lakefront restaurant for dinner and both were great times. My only regret is that I didn't take photos. Usually though, that means (to me) that I was having such a great time living in the moment that I forgot!I don't know that I would look anywhere else to stay when visiting Big Bear again. Even if her place was full when I wanted to go, I would reschedule my plans so that I could go when she had space available. Why explore around when you know that this experience is exactly what I wanted/needed in a Bed and Breakfast?! Can't wait to go back! More...

We just had our wedding at Gold Mountain Manor this past weekend, and I cannot begin to express how happy I was with the whole entire weekend. Obviously the whole venue is absolutely adorable. My family spent a lot of time in Big Bear when I was growing up, and there was no where else I could see myself getting married. In my opinion, Gold Mountain Manor is the best wedding venue in Big Bear! When we went to see the Manor it was under about 3 feet of snow in the middle of winter. Cathy gave us the tour and described what everything would look like during July. I couldn't have been any happier. The Manor likes to do a breakfast the morning of the wedding and the morning after. I thought it was so cool to get all of my family members and friends together the morning of my big day. Everyone loved breakfast, and it was the perfect start to the big day. If you book your wedding here use the vendors that they suggest! Erik Redmond was an amazing DJ, and had everyone dancing the whole night. Little Green House already knew what would work perfectly with the venue for the flowers. Renee at the Barn Storm is a hoot, and the food was amazing!Cathy is leaving a great place to Bessie (the new owner)!
