The afternoon tea itself was lovely but there were only 3 tables full of people in the whole restaurant (us included) and we were sat on a table by the door with everyone coming and going and staff walking past us. I asked to move and while all the booths were empty we were still moved to a table in a bad position. No cutlery or napkins were provided so we had to take them from other tables but other than this it was nice. A nice restaurant and bar. It was really quiet when we called in on a wednesday lunch time. The food was good, fresh pizzas and the chilli po boy. Decentish beer too. The Lagunitas all day IPA was pretty good but I would have preferred the normal IPA. I'm not sure if the management read this or can work out who it is but the barman/waiter was excellent. I’ve visited twice this past month, once in a big group & once with just my husband. Both times the food was absolutely delicious! Halloumi fries, nachos, lasagne & pizza all amazing! Food service was fine (though when I was part of the group I did observe a young girl (obviously new) being scolded for mixing the starters up.) Second visit a older couple next to us had to ask twice where their food was they’d been waiting ages! The drinks/ordering service was quite poor. They seem to be short of staff both nights (Saturday’s) & this needs addressing as its a busy night! All in all though I’d definitely go back, food is the most important thing & it really is lovely, decor also great! 4/5 More...

Great addition to a great hotel. The staff are brilliant, the food is great and the beer selection is varied. The kitchen closes at 22:00. We got back at 23:00 and the chef made us desert without fuss. They also serve great cocktails. Whilst you don't have to book a table I would recommend doing so just to be sure. More...
