Having a new puppy in lockdown was exciting and daunting. We have completed the Dream Puppy Plan with Carrie online, I was a bit skeptical about how this would work but I needn't have worried. With there only being a limited number of people and pups, Carrie was able to give one to one attention to each of us. She is clearly knowledgable, passionate and a great teacher - both me and my pup have learnt so much and really benefitted from her experience, patience and enthusiasm. I would recommend Carrie to everyone! More...

Barney has been with Carrie for both walks and classes and really enjoyed both. He and I have got a lot from the classes with games that can motivate and stimulate him and we can adapt them into our daily routine. Carrie has always been a great help and support and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. More...

I contacted Carrie when my puppy was about 10 weeks old as I was looking for training classes. From the first phone conversation I had with her, she has been extremely helpful. I have just finished my first block of 4 sessions and I’ve signed up for another block already! Not only are the classes really useful, Carrie always encourages us to ask questions outside of the class which I find really useful as things often crop up each week. We have attended 2 blocks of Carrie's training classes and couldn't speak more highly of her and what she teaches. Sully is not the easiest dog to work with as he is beyond excitable but over the last 10 weeks or so she has helped us no end to stop him jumping on the sofa, pulling on walks, recall, and most importantly getting control of his excitement levels. Although we're taking a break to put into practice what Carrie has taught us we will 100% be back for new classes in the near future. We also could recommend the training walks any higher. Seeing what Carrie does in the real world helped no end, and the DMT work has changed how Sully behaves on our daily walks :) p.s. Sully adores Carrie, and his opinion matters more than ours. I needed a cat sitter last min and Carrie was able to help. She immediately came round, met the cats and sorted the forms. I was a bit nervous at first, as it's the first time I've left the cats at home (they hated the cattery) and I had to convince my hubbie to give a 'stranger' access to the house. From the moment I met Carrie I fully trusted her. Both my cats are nervous so spent a lot of time playing 'hide and seek' with Carrie, but when I arrived home they had been well looked after. Carrie also kept me updated regularly with texts and photos, giving me that extra peace of mind. Would defo recommend, and plan to use again More...

Jess took to Carrie immediately (which is high praise indeed) and we immediately took this as a good sign. Carrie provided regular updates during our trip and sent us photos of Jess. I asked carrie for her help after we adopted a puppy and spoilt her rotton so she became a little monster. She asked how often our puppy was walked and didn't judge when it became obvious that she wasnt getting enough exercise. We set off on our first walk and ran into carrie by chance. She showed us a fab hour long walk which we do every single day. My other dog who is not a little monster is now good friends with carries dog and one of carries charges and carrie has helped turn walking from a chore into a chance to spend two hours in the woods every day and enjoy the company of my dogs. She has tips for every single behaviour I have asked her about and she has helped me have confidence in myself as a dog owner. I now have happy dogs. Carrie takes pleasure in your victories and is a fantastically supportive lady. Carrie is fantastic with all dogs and knows all the dogs and owners on our route. More...

Carrie came to see our Jack Russell at home, who we got from a rescue centre 2 weeks prior, and took a lot of interest in teaching us how to train him out of some bad habits. Carrie showed us some really useful training techniques and also gave us some paperwork with further excellent tips on during the session that also helped us. After the session, Carrie followed up with regular emails to see how our Jack Russell was getting on - and then she gave more suggestions to help his behaviour as we gave feedback on how he was responding. 3 weeks on, Carrie is still keeping in touch - and our Jack Russell's behaviour is so much better. Carries has been brilliant with us and our pooch. She never puts him in a stressful situation and has helped us no end in understanding warning signs. She uses no scary shouty voice, or aversive techniques (which we experienced with our last behaviourist, hence getting Carrie in.)
She is good at training us too! We will continue to work with Carrie as she's approachable and continues to support us remotely via email in between visits.
I recommend her to anyone who has any behavioural issues, or anyone needing a little support in doing the right things.

Carrie walks our two dogs for us regularly and I highly recommend her service. Our dogs Simba and Oscar (rough collie and pointer) have very different needs which Carrie has taken the time to understand and then find ways to keep them both happy on their walks. Oscar requires a handler who can manage his instincts to go off and hunt for things, and Carrie is one of the few people I trust to manage him safely off the lead. I'm pretty fussy with who I trust with my dogs, but have never worried about them at all since Carrie took their walks over.

Q&As

Being able to work with animals on a daily basis and working together with owners training their dogs and seeing their success!

Her Journey
Carrie realised working in an office environment was no longer for her, she pursued her dream of working with animals and became a successful franchisee of a local dog walking & pet care company in Coventry in 2013.

Whilst previously working for the pet care company, Carrie helped build up the business and covered a wide area of Coventry. She has a vast experience and knowledge of working with and owning animals from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and terrapins, so you can be rest assured your pets are in the best of hands.

Carrie decided it was time to venture out by herself and to pursue her passion in training & behaviour and her love of taking care of dogs, cats and small animals. She provides Coventry with an friendly, professional and reliable standard of care for their dogs, cats and small animals.

The Dream
She is passionate about helping people living happier lives with their dogs.
Her aims are to promote responsible dog ownership, to help train dogs to be a well behaved member of the community and to help prevent behavioural issues by educating dog owners about control and their responsibilities. She only uses force free, modern, positive, reward based motivational training with the foundations built on science and ethics.

Whilst your pets are in her care, her mission is to ensure the well-being of your pets while you are away from them, and to do it with respect, attentiveness and loving care.
She wants you to be comforted by the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone trustworthy, reliable and compassionate is looking after your pets who are most dear to you.
In our own way, we take care of you, as well.

Services

We provide a flexible, daily or occasional service, whatever suits your needs. We understand that all dogs are as unique as we are and therefore walks are completely tailored just for your dog. We will take care of your pet as if they are our own and give them all the attention and affection they need.

As we have a excellent understanding of dogs, we know that many problems arise due to inactivity, boredom and lack of socialisation. It’s important to us that your dog is mentally stimulated as well as physically exercised, as this will leave your dog more relaxed when left at home after their walk. By providing them more interactive walks, this in turn will help reduce boredom which can lead to behavioural problems which may include excessive barking, digging or compulsive chewing.

Our dog walkers enjoy taking them on local country walks and parks rather than road walks (unless requested) as this makes their walks are more interesting for their senses.

On our group dog walks, we only ever walk up to 4 dogs at any one time and only when this is suitable for all dogs involved.
Unlike other companies, we like to make sure that your dog is getting the attention and interaction from the walk that they require.
Play is very important part of socialisation with dogs, so having this time with some play mates will make a very happy dog!
Walks are either 30 minute or 1 hour and your dog can be walked on or off lead depending on your requirements.

Your dog may require solo walks as they may not be sociable, older or have an injury, we are able to offer this service out of our busy time.

If you have recently acquired a puppy and are getting them into their new routine, you may require a 30 minute puppy visit for the new member to your family.
They will not be ready for the 30 min walks straight away, as your need be careful not to over walk them as this can damage their growing bones and joints which can effect their development.
So we can offer you a service where we can come round and have playtime, house training, feeding and gradually build up the walks as your puppy grows and once your puppy is ready, we can move them onto the 30 minute group walks.

Our cat sitting service & small animal pet care services are suitable if you are away for a weekend break or for a longer holiday.

Cats are very territorial, so are less stressed and are happier in their own environment rather than in a cattery. This service allows your cats or small animals to be cared for in the comfort and security of their familiar surroundings and allowing them to keep to their daily routine and eating habits and you have one thing less to worry about.

By choosing to use the services of a local Coventry pet sitter, you don’t have to impose on a friend, neighbour or relative to care for your pet, but instead rely on a pet care professional who will put your pet’s needs first.
Other duties while visiting your pets can include bringing in the mail, closing/opening blinds/curtains, watering plants and turning lights on and off to give your home an occupied look. We do however advise clients to use an automatic timer.

We will clean feeding bowls and give your pet fresh water and food, clean their feeding area, their litter tray as well as play and cuddle with your pet. We can regularly update you on your pets shenanigans via text or email. We can send photos and videos of our time spent with your pets.

We can also cater to your pet’s daily/weekly grooming needs while you are away, and can administer medication as required. If we notice a change in eating habits or anything else, we will make sure it is detailed for you to view when you get back. Should we become very concerned, we will of course will contact you and will take your cat to a vet if needed.

There are many reasons why a dogs behaviour can become undesirable and in the vast majority of cases these can be treated. I see it as my job as a behaviourist and trainer to help you achieve results.

We offer a kind, ethical and effective professional service for the treatment of behavioural problems in dogs.

We only use positive, reward based methods which promotes the highest standards of animal welfare and allowing people to learn how to communicate with their dogs, without the need for force.

Behaviour problems that we cover include anxiety, fear, separation issues, pulling, recall, inappropriate soiling, compulsive behaviour, aggression, general obedience and more.

Your dog will be assessed in detail, before an individual behaviour modification programme is devised, which will be manageable for the owners. Ongoing support is provided via email, telephone or in person.
