Caroline has taken photos of several dances for us at Duke Gardens/Doris Duke Center. The space can be difficult in terms of lighting, and it's also a great challenge to photograph dancers in action in a flattering way. Great photographer and storyteller! She did our wedding, engagement, and bridal portraits, and I just want to look at the pictures over and over again! Caroline was amazing! I don't quite know how she did it, but she has incredible photographs of every single awesome thing that happened at our wedding. She arranged efficient, creative, gorgeous formal shots right after the ceremony, and she and her assistant photographer took amazing candids all throughout the reception. She came right on time and stayed through the whole thing, ready to document every single moment. All of our pictures captured the joyful, fun, playful atmosphere of our wedding. I have used Caroline for the past 2 years since we moved to Raleigh from AZ and I can't tell you how impressed with her we have been. Caroline was a last-second decision for me as I was in a rush to find a photographer after I had one cancel. She was very open to my idea of the "secret proposal" and planned it out to perfection for me. She was very flexible with me and with the weather we had to endure. She was completely professional throughout the whole process.
Her photos came out exceptional and more than we could of asked for. For her mini session we took probably 10-15 poses which was great for us. We loved the slideshow touch she sent us, also.

I met Caroline three years ago at a wedding showcase event. Walking around and looking at the other booths she had a very impressive portfolio and she was easy to talk to. Although I didn't know that I even wanted professional photos I got excited looking at the photo she took of people and places around Durham and Raleigh that I knew. She chose me from the people who put their names in a jar at the event to get a free engagement session and I'm sad that I waited three years to finally go through with it because it was so much fun so easy to do! The photos were more beautiful than I could imagine! She is a photographer who loves what she does and is passionate about getting the right shot but not making you feel uncomfortable or silly through any of the process. She was fun and warm with everyone at our wedding taking photos we knew we would enjoy but not being in the way in the slightest! She had an excellent assistant that day who had a few good ideas for new poses and shots. We all had fun with Caroline and LOVED her work! My wife met Caroline at a wedding showcase event 3 years ago and feel in love with her work. We weren't planning our wedding right away but kept her business card for when we did. Caroline Z was awesome. We purchased a photography package that included engagement pictures, a bridal shoot, and the wedding. (The value was amazing - we got all three shoots for about the same price that other vendors were charging for just the wedding.) Caroline was very accommodating in setting up days and times for the photo shoots and the pictures were fantastic. Caroline is so pleasant to work with and has a great personality. She provided really good direction with poses and expressions. At the wedding, she was amazing and captured the whole experience. Caroline did a wonderful job taking photos in the Outer Banks of my family. The whole process was very easy from getting the session set up, to taking the photos to getting the final edited pictures. Caroline was very responsive throughout which made things so much easier. The photo session included my 10 month old daughter who was not interested in posing for pictures that day but Caroline was super patient as we tried ways to make her smile. Caroline was happy to accommodate any requests we had for certain poses and helped set us up to ensure that the picture setting was perfect. I also loved that while she was taking shots she was quick to tell us if clothing or hair was out of place or if we needed to re-position in order to get the best picture. We had a lot of fun at the session and I loved the final results. Despite the grumpy baby Caroline was able to take beautiful photos. Caroline is a brilliant and talented photographer and is awesome to work with. We have had 3 sessions with her throughout our wedding, and have received countless compliments on her photos. From our first conversation on the phone to the last email I have enjoyed every interaction. She isn't shy about setting up the perfect shots and you can tell she loves what she does, as it resonates in all of her photos. Caroline did the photographs for my outdoor wedding this past March. She was absolutely wonderful! She organized everything quickly and efficiently, making sure to get beautiful pictures of every important moment.
