Caroline is a fantastic photographer and has captured the pre-school class children perfectly both formally and informally during their play inside and outdoors. Caroline is always asked to return due to the children responding so well to her. Caroline takes the children's photos both at the beginning of the pre-school year and again at our leavers celebration where she takes individual, family, friends and class photos. What's not to like? I met Caroline when she did bump shots for my first pregnancy and I've been hooked- we've had her do baby shoots, family shoots, another bump shoot, and I even got brave enough to do a boudoir shoot knowing I would love the results in her very capable hands (she's a dab hand at photoshop! ).Not only is she incredibly talented at seeing the photo opportunities, framing it and all that artistic stuff that you need a good photographer for in the first place, she is also personable, friendly, GREAT at direction (this was essential for me- someone who can say 'actually lift your chin and drop your shoulder' to get a better shot is so important), and very careful to listen to your remit and deliver your hoped for pictures. If you don't have a definitive idea she will have loads! But if you do she will work hard to get it for you.Finally, and here's the big thing I didn't even realise was so important- she is a whizz at the editing part! Nothing ridiculous but the photos she comes back with all look fabulous.... she sees all those bits you'd nitpick about and makes them disappear- still you and your family but on a really good day! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Understanding light, a good eye for detail and composition but also knowing how to get the best from your equipment and editing software.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is it that you're hoping to have at the end of the shoot? What do you need the images for? Where do you need the images taken? What products would you like at the end of a session: prints, digitals, albums, acrylics, custom blocks etc?
What do you love most about your job?
The creativity, independence and variety of new challenges each day. What's not to love when you're running your own business that you're passionate about. When I provide services to clients who value quality photography, that's what makes it all worthwhile.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The joy my work brought to the people I photographed, especially parents, as I captured the memories of their family or wedding day.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm dedicated to every client and providing them with what they want for their investment. I don't do things by halves so you can always guarantee I'll put in the ultimate effort no matter the size of the project. I collaborate and listen to customers to translate their vision as well as provide my own creative input and experience.
