What kind of accounting services do you provide?
I provide monthly accounting support and bookkeeping such as reconciling bank and credit card accounts, paying vendor bills, generating invoices for customers, processing payroll, generating and analyzing financial statements, cash flow analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and documenting procedures. I also provide certain tax services such as filing multi-state sales and use tax, business personal property tax, and franchise tax.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Trying to handle your bookkeeping yourself often takes you away from the important tasks of operating and growing your business. It can also lead to costly mistakes or getting behind due to lack of time to dedicate to the task. It is often more expensive to hire a great accountant after you've messed up the books or fallen behind than to hire them upfront.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy being able to provide companies with the answers they need to run their businesses better and to explain in terms that they can relate to the financial health of their organization.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Being able to do something that helped small businesses is very different from the Corporate roles that I've held.
