Capturelight Moments was established, by Belinda & Ralph Hardwick, in 2013 to offer a high quality portrait photography service to non-commercial customers.
With full access to the resources of our commercial & advertising based sister company, we can offer a comfortable, fully equipped studio, using state of the art, radio controlled lighting, lightweight backdrops and the latest digital camera and editing technology.
Based in Bradwell, Norfolk we can offer tailored portrait sessions for you, your family and even your pets. The equipment we use is totally portable so you have your choice of attending the studio or, if you prefer, you can have quality portraits in your own home or on location.
We are also there to cover the special events in your life such as christenings, birthdays or any other social event you might care to mention.
In 2016 we invested heavily in adapting our premises to add a 450 ft2 (42 m2) studio. Even if we do say so ourselves, it's a little bit special.
It is equipped with multiple backgrounds, chairs, props, baby blankets overhead HD projector and plenty of space to move about. As well as a large shower/changing room (suitable for baby changing) it also has a sink, fridge/freezer and worktop with tea and coffee facilities. It has a 3.4m high ceiling, which is important for high level portrait lighting and two large roller doors so can accommodate subjects up to the size of motorcycle, large sofa or dining table and chairs Should the image require it.
Living on the same premises as our studio allows us absolute flexibility and enables us to react quickly and at any time to meet our clients needs. Because of this we are happy to offer evening or weekend sessions to suit our clients working patterns.
Although our studio is based in Bradwell, Norfolk, the equipment we use is totally portable and can be used independent of mains power. Our clients can, therefore, choose to make use of our studio or, if they prefer, we can create a studio environment literally in the middle of a field or other location of their choosing.
We use a variety of equipment, for portrait sessions, ranging from lighter weight DSLRs to high resolution medium format digital cameras with live tethering facilities, which allow remote client viewing. Depending upon the effect required we can use natural light or the studio is equipped with extensive radio controlled lighting and light modifiers suitable for a wide variety of styles from a classic headshot to a model beauty images.
Taking the picture is just one small part of the whole image making process. As it was many years ago, in the darkroom, the post processing can make a good portrait into something really special. Because of this we use the most up to date processing equipment combined with the latest image editing software.

CaptureLight Limited Q&A
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Taking a great photo is like engineering with light. It takes patience and an eye for detail, however above all this it is about problem solving.
Light is a problem, the customer wants to show themselves in a particular way and too much light, or light in the wrong place can spoil that image.
I understand the complexities of light and know how to reduce it, shape it or add more when needed. Engineering with light and problem solving our my two key strengths
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Apart from the obvious, how many images, when do you need them, how do you want them delivered, it is important to understand what mood or effect the client wants to achieve and how those images will be used.
Shooting a family for a small framed print may require a different approach to images that will be used for a large canvas wall hanging.
The choice of camera equipment, lighting, backgrounds, sets, props and post processing all need to be considered. T
That's why I pride myself on completing a detailed review, prior to the shoot, with the client.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the look on a clients face when I create and image that matches, or exceeds, what they visualised.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been taking photographs for over forty years, all over the world.
It made sense to combine my love of technical challenges, photography and corporate communications into a business.
I established Capturelight Limited in 2013 to deliver exactly that.
Why should our clients choose you?
I would hope that a simple review of the quality of my images at www.moments.capturelight.co.uk would help to answer that. As I stated in the company over view: I pride myself on being able to offer the highest standard of images for affordable prices.
