Kim was amazing! She came to my graduation and took some stunning high quality photographs. Kim was really friendly and full of ideas (of where to stand etc.), so we had an extensive range of beautiful photographs. She is incredibly talented and captured us throwing our hats in the air every time. I would highly recommend her and will be inviting her to more occasions in the future! More...

Kim photographed our wedding, she captured exactly the mood we wanted to portray in the pictures. She was such a calming influence on the day and helped us to relax and enjoy it by being so organised, I never had to worry a moment wasn't being captured.

Kim photographed my wedding and what an amazing job she did! The images she captured really reflected the feel of the day and many of them brought a tear to my eye. She was also totally non intrusive and I barely even noticed her taking the pictures. Kim is enthusiastic, creative and an absolute pleasure to have around. Highly recommend! Thanks! More...

Kim is my first stop for all my professional photography requirements. Having first met her over 5 years ago every shoot she has done for us has been amazing. She is professional, friendly, amazing with babies and had a keen eye for the perfect shot. I can't recommend her enough. Would never go anywhere else xxx More...

Kimberley has provided our family with lasting memories of our daughter claire's graduation. Kim came to northampton university and took photos throughout the event. Kim's attention to detail, organisation and polite instruction has given us the perfect photos.
Kimberley has also taken photos of our beloved family pet Eddy (see the albums) and provided many photos of him for us all to cherish.
We have had a couple put on canvas and our framer has commented on the quality and freshness of the photos. Thanks again Kim I'm sure it won't be long before we have another occasion for you to add your professional touch to!

Q&A

A mixture of experience, technical know-how and creativity. It is also depends on the subject, for instance, with babies I find that a good game of peek-a-boo can work wonders, whereas with couples I tend to get to know them a little bit so that they are natural and relaxed.

For all shoots, I like to find out about the individual's, couple's or family's favourite images, either using images they have gathered, Pinterest, or by going through my portfolio, to see what sort of images they are drawn to and why. I then work on bringing the elements we have identified into the shoot. I also find out practicalities such as what to wear, whether they've thought about where an image might be going - i.e. on a wall, as a present, or in an album. With weddings specifically I make a note of all the important images so that we can make sure they are incorporated into the day.

Honestly, the moment when a client sees their images for the first time, it can sometimes be quite emotional seeing images of you and your loved ones, and it's a satisfying feeling and real feel-good moment, knowing that I have captured something special.

I started working as a photographer at the age of 19 and I haven't stopped. I worked in a studio for 3 years and then I worked as a specialist portrait photographer on luxury cruise liners around Europe and the Caribbean for 2 years, so when I returned in 2012 it just seemed like the next step to go freelance, I set up Captured by Kimberley in late 2012 and have been happily capturing memories ever since.

I shoot weddings part-time, as I work Monday-Friday as a product photographer which means I only shoot a few weddings each year, and therefore I can keep prices reasonable. I have the experience to deliver high-quality photography, and have the time and expertise to work on and deliver your finished digital images swiftly, so that in no time at all you can be re-living your day again.
