Our experience with Capital City movers was really good. Â Our point of contact was Kiko who is a very responsive and good guy. Â We also worked with two different teams as we had two moves. We liked the first team but the second team was far superior, they were especially careful as they transported the stuff and wrapped it to make sure nothing was torn or scratched. Â We faced one hiccup as there was an error in the assembly of the bed but Capital City got that fixed too. Â A gentleman Ned came to redo the bed and ensure it was secure. Excellent service! Great price  The movers were very professional and fast. They packed my things very carefully and everything arrived to the new location safe and sound! They protected every item, also it was great that they disassembled and reassembled my bed super fast. It just took care of something that would have been a headache for me. It's worth it and they made my life easier. They are very responsive too, I inquired about moving services in Manhattan and contacted a few and they were the first ones to reply and they had the best price, too. They can be contacted through email, phone, Instagram and they reply promptly in all of them. I will definitely use them again and I recommend their service to all my friends.  VERY IMPORTANT! They are very respectful. Kiko was our point person and from the very first interaction to the last, represented the company with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Tarek and his team moved us and what was originally supposed to be a move from point A to point B turned into loading up the truck then needing to store our stuff for a week before moving into point B. The only easy and straight forward aspect of our move was Capital City Movers. Kiko immediately handled the change of plans without any added stress to our lives and Tarek & team worked hard and efficiently to do what needed to be done (which was a lot!) We've used all the big name moving companies in the NYC area and not one has provided such consistently good service on all fronts at a competitive price. I have moved several times in my life, this was by far the best move yet. The staff were super nice and accommodating throughout the entire process. There were no surprises, no hidden fees, no problems. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone and everyone. Oggi was the main man for our crew and he was so easy to work with and I trusted them all completely. It was honestly a tough job for them considering it was within Manhattan and dealing with 2 separate management buildings - the building we moved into has a very inconvenient setup for movers and they did not complain at all. These guys were great! They showed up on time, were hard working, and really took care of all of our things. This wasn't an easy move, we had a 2BR, 2BA apt on a 3 floor walk up. Capital City Movers went beyond my expectations. They were fast and concise. They did not miss a beat. Their time of arrival was 9-10 am and they arrived by 9:15. The job didn’t take long at all. They were finished by 9:45. Everything was on the truck. When they arrived at my new address they beat me there. They moved me into my new apartment in record time. Nothing was missing or broken. I was so grateful. By 11:30 everything was done. What really impressed me was the fact that the driver knew the area that I was moving to. I did not worry about them getting lost. We booked Capital City Movers the day before our move. Three guys arrived on Saturday morning at 9am and had everything in place in our new apartment at 12:15. They took everything we had said and so much more. We had planned to take some stuff ourselves and let them take the big items but they took everything. They were amazing and I couldn’t recommend them enough. We were given a rate and were not asked for a dollar more even though they took so much more than we had planned. What a great experience from start to finish! We used Capital City Movers last year, but that was only to unload our truck in NYC after moving from another state. And they were great then. But this time, we moved apartments within Manhattan, and everything was easy from the moment we called. Nigel was so easy to work with in regards to setting up the move, and he was super accommodating with the timing and date after our building was hard to pin down at the end. Then the three movers we had - Nick, Darko, and Dino - were fantastic! They were quick and efficient, yet careful with our things. They wrapped all of the furniture to protect it and made sure any miscellaneous items we had were well organized and made it to the new place without a scratch! We used Capital City to move between apartments in the same neighborhood and they were outstanding.Dealing with the staff over email was super easy, and Nigel (my contact) was very thorough and reassuring in his communication. I liked that they were not trying to nickel and dime me for every single thing, and instead note what was included in the price, and including a detailed itinerary of the stuff they would be moving. I also appreciated the flexibility on their part that our total number of packed boxes could adjust slightly. The actual move itself was excellent too. The crew of three were fast but took great care and attention in moving our belongings, and they were professional throughout the entire process. We had an excellent experience with Capital City Movers. After being quoted 2k+ to move a couch and 20 boxes from the UES to Gramercy Capital City swooped in and saved the day. They offered a competitive quote within our budget and scheduling flexibility that no other company could match. Â When it came down to moving day they were on time and over delivered. These guys have moving down to a science. I was particularly impressed with how much care they took to wrap our furniture. Unlike our last moving company who dragged their feet to fill the truck they were in and out in under a half hour. They even beat us to our new spot while we were still in a cab. When we finally got there they told us to head on in and unbox as they brought stuff up. So good. Unfortunately I have to strike off a star since they inadvertently left our stuff unattended outside. To be totally honest I don't think they did it intentionally and it would've been a-okay if we were in the Suburbs. I popped my head outside and noticed the guy who was watching the truck had dropped inside. Like clockwork a stranger walked up and started rummaging under the blankets they set up to cover the boxes. The dude tried to walk off with our guitar! Luckily I was able to shoo him away from the window. It genuinely seemed like a last second oversight so we ended up splitting up watch duty so the team could focus on moving the heavy stuff. No harm done. Team work makes the dream work, right? All in all I was seriously impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the office and moving team. Not to mention the Foreman and his crew were seriously the sweetest and genuinely a pleasure to work with. When I received the Confirmation email, I was so relieved, because I knew my move would be in good hands. This company was a dream to work with.  Moving  can be very stressful, but this group was so efficient and on top of all of the details, we were reassured that we picked the right group - we actually got them from Angie's List. From the communication with Kiko, the fair price, the responsive people in this company, and the people who came to move us. Pros and cons: Capital city movers is good for the flat rate and Uber organized back office staff. They will call and confirm multiple times. Cons: like any other mover, they can be extremely late. They were 2 hours late to my move, and back office staff totally underestimated the morning job as I was the afternoon customer. The guys, if exhausted (mine were) will high tail it out without any light assembly. They missed a box and a plant too but negotiated a discount. We had an awesome experience with Tariq and his team. We only loved ten blocks but had a ton of stuff (a lot of it quite fragile) and the guys handled everything with care. They were incredibly warm and efficient and took great care to accommodate our toddler and prioritizing where needed. I hate moving so much and they made a chaotic process so much more bearable.
