If you want to have your payroll done wrong 3 times in a month or if you’re looking for a company that doesn’t care if your sales are in CAD or USD, this should be your choice.
After sending them the details and see to fix the issue, their reply was for us to fix their books because $5k is not enough money for them to do the work.
We hired this company to do the bookkeeping & payroll of us, but when the year-end documents have been prepared with lots of mistakes and we had to hire a professional accountant to do everything from scratch so we can pay our taxes.

Communication is key in any business dealing and that was missing in this engagement. During our 11 month engagement with Adrian he didn't want to be contacted as he claimed to be 'too busy' and would not like it if anyone on my team would ask or send questions via email. On many occasions we received hostile email replies back saying he 'doesn't have time' for us to ask questions. We chose to limit our questions and compile them for year-end. Adrian chose to use Harvest for his invoicing and not use the built in invoicing for QBO which led to the confusion of USD/CAD with the mix of zero communication this wasn't the ideal scenario for us. We corrected this during year-end which is when all accountants correct any bookkeeping discrepancies. This is common practice. We at CapexCPA work with our clients like partners and a partnership doesn't work when only one side is trying to effectively communicate. We prefer it if any potential client that is too busy to work with us to not reach out to us. We wish you the best for your future Adrian and hope that you can work on your communication skillset with your next accounting firm.

Bookkeeping
As a corporation, it’s important to know that bookkeeping is a critical process that pertains to financial statements and taxes. Incorporations & Business name registration
Incorporating your business is always an important decision to make as you progress in the marketplace. We will thoroughly educate you and advise when it’s the perfect time to incorporate. This process involves conducting proprietary name searches to ensure no other business is registered the same way. Once we register your name, you are given total freedom to register web domains, create business cards, develop brochures and implement various promotional items under your legal name. We provide you the right solutions to adopt a corporate structure to benefit you on a long term basis.
Financial Statements
Notice to Reader is a combination of income statement and balance sheet statement with source documents provided by the shareholders. We work with these statements to deliver the financial position of your corporation for your management discussion and analysis. Many owners and or other users might be interested in seeing the financial position of the corporation. There is no assurance provided on such engagements and are meant for a limited audience restricted to usually the owners. If more assurance is required a reviewed or audited financial statements would be required as the notice to reader would not suffice.
T2 Corporate Tax
T2 corporate filing form is used to file your Corporate taxes for your business. The T2 corporate tax filing is a bit more complex than T1 personal taxes. At Capex, we provide you the right management services to avoid penalties from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). We would start this process off by getting your bookkeeping completed for the prior 12 months and add in the required adjusting entries to optimize your tax position.
HST Taxation
Most businesses operating in Canada are impacted by this tax and unless they’re managed properly, they can have a negative impact on your business. Always remember that an HST registration is required for annual revenues of $30,000 or above. The collection and remittance of the HST remains the responsibility of the recipient who is generating that income. Keep note that the HST remittance frequency can be annually, quarterly or monthly depending on the industry and occurrence of income collection. We are here to guide you to accurately manage all your necessary records.
T2125 Sole Proprietorship and Partnership Taxation
The T2125 form is used to report your business, commission and professional income to the CRA. It is critical to keep track of all your expenses so that the necessary deductions can be taken against your taxable income. As a sole-proprietorship/partnership you as the tax payer are faced with higher tax liabilities and it becomes ever more important to consider the tax planning strategies that we can help you implement.
T5 Shareholder Tax Optimization
Starting a business is always exciting, but it’s critical to know how to manage your income taxes. In Canada you are legally able to reduce your income taxes and have the right to defer or lower your taxes with the right supporting documentation. Regardless if you’re paying yourself, employee salaries or dividends, each scenario has a different tax liability and needs customized consultation. At Capex we will maximize your after tax net income by strategically allocating income. A CCPC can take advantage of the small business deduction tax rate of 14% and take out $33,000 a year out tax free each year out of the corporation and pay no personal taxes on this money.
CRA Corporate Tax Audits
Don’t panic if you receive an audit letter from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Capex will be there to represent you during the entire auditing process. The auditor will come to our office to address your questions once we obtain your signed RC59 form.
If you ever come across any tax errors that need to be resolved, we provide the support to correct those problems before it becomes a larger issue. We will ensure accuracy and proper source documentation papers with your records to satisfy the CRA Audit.
CRA Payroll Tax Audits
Hiring employees is the pinnacle point of a business' growth. However, there are many administrative steps taken to generate the T4's, source deductions, CPP and EI calculations. The auditor's will be looking for areas of weakness within your payroll system to hit you with fines/penalties. Let us play the bodyguard and make this painless as possible. We will start with vetting all the payroll calculations in question to ensure that all your numbers are squeaky clean!
Quickbooks - ProAdvisor Consulting
We are approved Quickbooks certified consultants and can help you with transitioning data from one file to another file by eliminating the unnecessary data entry. We use importing/exporting tools to help expedite the process. If you are looking to migrate from one accounting system to another or simply are trying to combine multiple files into one we can help you with this. Keeping the history of your financials is a requirement as per the Canada revenue agency.
