5/16/2017 - Outstanding person! Carrie has taught me as well as my dog lol. From puppy hood to an adult. I was a first time parent to a dog (female boxer). She is easy to work with and always has time for advise or instruction. I would totally recommend Carrie. More...

Update 11/12/2016: My dog is now 3 years old. We just came home from a trip to Lowes, where my dog was well mannered in the store and the employees where happy to meet his and give him a treat or two. Carrie Lyons at Canine Counsel made this possible. I highly recommend Carrie for private lessons as well as her classes.

When my puppy, Bandit, was a few months old, I noticed he seemed to be showing some signs of separation anxiety, so I checked out dog trainers near me. I wanted a trainer who used positive reward based training and I liked what Canine Counsel offered and the cost was very reasonable. I scheduled our first appointment in my home. Carrie developed an individualized plan that was easy to understand and implement. I was a nervous first time puppy owner and my puppy had picked up on that. Bandit also had some mild leash reactivity. I'm glad I called right away. I learned new ways to interact with my puppy and Carrie was available for email and phone support. I scheduled follow up appointments with Carrie to build on the successes we were seeing. We even held lessons away from home in public places, like the park, which was really helpful.

When Bandit was old enough for class, I enrolled in a group Basic Obedience class with Carrie. Again it was such a great experience working with Carrie in a group setting that we took more classes with Carrie, including Advanced Obedience, and we are enrolled for two more classes with Carrie. Carrie also walks my dog on a regular basis.

Bandit is now two year old. He no longer has any signs of separation anxiety. He is a happy boy who loves to go on walks, chase balls, catch a Frisbee, and he is learning how to do agility. I highly recommend Canine Counsel. Carrie is the best!
