Camp Doganuga

So happy to have found Camp Doganuga! I was desperately looking for a place to board my dog the night before Christmas Eve for Christmas weekend. I thought I'd be out of luck because it was extremely last minute and a very busy time of year. I was also worried that the only places left were places that I wouldn't be comfortable leaving my dog, such as a place where he would be stuck in a small cage all weekend. But then I came across Camp Doganuga on Yelp. It was close by and I liked what I read on the website. It was after normal business hours but I decided to give it a call anyway. Janice answered and was so accommodating. I made arrangements to bring my dog the next morning. Janice was so welcoming and my dog immediately felt at home. There is a large backyard for the dogs to run around a play, and a comfortable home for the dogs to relax. In the past, my dogs have usually seemed out of sorts when picking them up from boarding. But when I picked my dog up from Camp Doganuga, he was his normal, happy self, and when we got home he passed out from all the fun he had with his new friends. The icing on the cake was how affordable Camp Doganuga was. I expected to pay a premium for the last minute booking and holiday weekend at any place I found, let alone at a place where my dog was treated like part of the family, but that was not the case. Grateful to have been referred to Camp Doganuga through dog park friends. It is hard to imagine leaving your dogs in a condition far from the conditions they are used to. If your dogs are used to being part of your family, living comfortably, and getting outdoor activity- Camp Doganuga is PERFECT. What a great find!I left my yorkie puppy (10 month ) for five days while I was traveling. I know my puppy is energetic and handful. My concern was to find a place where he can be safe and supervised. Janice was very warm to all the dogs she takes care of. I texted her a couple of times asking about my pet an she will txt me back with updates. When I picked him up he was happy and energetic as usual. He is always happy when he goes back to doggie camp. He really likes it there!Since then, I have used Camp Doganuga several times for daily and overnight stays. I strongly recommend this place.   I am relocating for work to the East Coast and pray that I can find a comparable place to leave my puppy.  P.S.  Dogs have run of the house and a large outside landscaped fenced in area.  Give them a call and tour the facility. I was going to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show and my dog drove with me to Tucson from Los Angeles. I had to find a place to keep my dog during the day while I was at the gem show and Camp Doganuga was recommended to me. I phoned the owner and spoke to  Janice and made arrangements for her to meet my dog and vice/versa. The atmosphere was very comfortable and there were dogs walking freely all around, inside and outside. At first I was leery because my little dog is not used to other dogs and is easily intimidated but after just a bit,, he seemed to settle in. I watched the way Janice treated all the dogs and they were like her children. The first day was so successful, I left him each day for 5 days. I picked him up after the show and dropped him off the following morning. I was so relieved to find a safe,loving environment that I plan to do exactly the same thing next year. More...
