An excellent service, highly recommended, great value for money and customer service. Cambridge Data Recovery undertook to recover data from ten 30-year-old BBC-format floppies for me and the task turned out to be anything but straightforward. Dr Dominic Wilson had clearly gone above and beyond to ensure recovery of as much data as humanly possible, providing a very detailed report of the results. He kindly (and without prompting) even tested the disk images for me in the emulator I intended to use to read them, to ensure that what he was supplying was exactly what I needed. Cambridge Data Recovery took three ancient floppies of mine and did a great job of converting them into files on a CD that I can view and work with again. The fee was reasonable and the service prompt. Dr Dominic Wilson communicated fully and clearly about what the job would entail, what he had been able to do with the disks, and how to read the updated files. He gave the strong impression that my job, small as it was, was in reliable hands because he cares about performing his work well. I am very happy with the result. A friend of mine recommended me CDR after a mechanical failure of almost a prehistoric external hard drive (now that I think of it, no wonder it failed. . ). Considering that it was the drive where I kept all my photos since the era of digital cameras in late 1990s, I was devastated. Dominic informed me that the chances to recover the data were 50-50, with extensive explanations and answering to all my questions and concerns in this respect. And they pulled it off! :) It cost a fortune (but no more than normal market price, actually even slightly less) but it worked! I approached 3 different 'Cambridge' companies to fix my failing hard drive. While others were keen to have me drop off my device so they could have a look and quoted between 3 and 7 days to fix, Cambridge Data Recovery got back to me by phone within the hour, talked through the diagnosis of my problem and the technical process by which they would deal with it. They predicted 36 hours to fix - but actually did it within 24. My cloned drive works perfectly. I was deeply impressed by their service from their Cambridge technical facility (not just a drop-off address) which saved me a huge amount of effort reinstalling legacy software.
