So… my thoughts, totally from my heart. I was indeed somewhat reluctantly introduced to Amanda under slight duress from my family who knew I needed help, but I could not face it. I foolishly didn’t think she could make a change for me. “Oh boy”, how wrong could I have been!

After my initial anxiety at the zoom call she immediately put me at ease and so it encouraged me to make further zooms/conversations, of which I have since enjoyed many. Amanda is extraordinary (and I am not getting commission for this review!)…. she has the most amazing empathy as to what I am going through in my life. She is never judgemental, but proactive and constructive as to how I might change my mindset and feel more positive for the way forward. Amanda is sometimes ‘fluffy’ when I need it, encouraging me to make changes, but also very pragmatic which I for one, accept whole heartedly as success doesn’t come without some semblance of work towards it, and previously I was in a mind ‘quagmire’.

I honestly couldn’t ask for more from her total intuition, warmth, her help, advice, friendship and I have to say I will continue to be her ‘client’ for probably as long as I live, as she sincerely has/is making a difference to my life/mentality/mindset, whatever you like to call it. So there you go! ‘One happy customer’ I say! I would and do recommend her help, wholeheartedly ☺️.

Not one for discussing my problems (males don't ) i realised i was at rock bottom. A friend of the family could see i was struggling and recommended i contact Amanda at Calmer Thoughts. I decided to ring her first. I liked her voice which was very calming and put me at ease. She asked a few questions about myself and suggested i listen to a CD she would send either by downloading it or she would post a copy. The tape was very soothing, and to be honest i have never reached the end ! so calming i am asleep!
We agreed to skype the next appointment.
It was hard to open up but after the first session i knew i could trust her. She let me talk but came in when i was struggling. She was very adept at getting me to off load my thoughts. I had 5 sessions with Amanda and am now in a much better place.
Would highly recommend Amanda, she helped me so much with her quite, confident manner.

I contacted Amanda following a period of time where I had lost my mojo and generally things just always seemed to give me negative thoughts. Amanda was recommended to me and from the initial consultation I felt my mood had lifted by just talking and getting an understanding of how our minds work. Amanda is very easy to talk to and has an amazing ability to listen and understand what you are feeling and get you moving in the right direction with positive mind set . From my first introductory session with Amanda, she demonstrated real empathetic listening, while also being truly insightful in understanding the causes of my anxieties. I found my sessions with her positive and always came away feeling a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Amanda is such a warm-hearted, empathetic, gentle person who will always show you kindness no matter what. She has been there to help me climb out of dark holes when it felt like it was impossible for things to get better. With Amanda's help, I've been able to put one baby step in front of the other and keep going. Giving up Smoking...I found Amanda in October (2018) having got to a point where I finally realised I would need some help to purge my smoking habit. I had tried loads and loads of times to quit, but for some reason after a short time and usually an adult drink, I found myself back to square one. Amanda, in a word was brilliant. We went through a process that was structured and well thought through. Amanda gave me the encouragement to focus my thoughts on things I love to do, (sport and fitness), as opposed to my default position of smoking. I have just completed Amanda’s weight loss course - A mindset approach. This has been the most valuable thing I have done for myself in 40 years. I was fed up of being on a diet, trying out every new approach to weight loss and attending various weight loss groups.Amanda’s course is helping me to focus on myself and recognising why I have not been able to loose weight in the past. I am able to understand my emotions, feelings, behaviours and thoughts around food and the way I eat. It has made such an incredible change to my life already and I feel so much healthier. I have also lost 23lbs since the start of the course and it doesn’t feel as if I am on a diet, just eating with a mindful approach putting the strategies etc. Into place that Amanda has helped us with. Having suffered from a phobia for the whole of my life I was simply amazed at how, with Amanda's help, and no traumatic "aversion therapy", I could bee so completely cured. I suppose it is entirely logical that phobias, being irrational fears, can be dealt with by sorting out how the mind works. A combination of hypnotherapy and NLP allowed the rational part of my brain to override the irrational panic that typifies a phobic reaction. The object of my phobia (spiders), which is a very common problem, is now (a year on) of no more consequence than any other mini-beast. LIFE CHANGING I signed up for the weight loss sessions with some trepidation. To be honest I’d tried everything else so why not. After the first two of the 3 sessions for once something has got inside my head and changed my attitude to food. Amanda is lovely, and has really helped me get my head around making good choices. A side effect of her calming techniques is that I’m also sleeping so much better. It’s been 5 months now and I’m 1.5 stones lighter. But I know it’s sustainable. Food is no longer a reward and I feel I have really broken a vicious eating cycle. Lots of ongoing online support from her. Can not recommend her highly enough. More...

I have seen Amanda for three sessions about the problems I was having sleeping and the results have been amazing. She has such a lot of interesting and helpful information and ideas to share, and some of what we discussed was things I already knew but needed encouragement to put into practice. Absolutely recommend Amanda and Calmer Thoughts. After losing the will to even try and get rid of my extra lbs and bored with every failed diet, I really thought my weight was going to be with me for the rest of my days. Following even just the first group session with Amanda, I am not only motivated to lose the weight but I just don’t want all the rubbish I used to eat. Being diabetic, my weight was causing so many other problems but now I feel healthier have more energy. We encourage each other as a small group and it’s fantastic to have so much support. Try it. I went to see Amanda recently as I was suffering with eczema caused by stress. I felt very relaxed talking about my life and family. She made me realise that certain events in my life were not my fault and to understand other people’s way of thinking or acting .
The tapping has helped me in times of stress or anxiety and the treatment was most helpful.
I would definitely recommend her to anyone with similar problems.

I can only say a big thank you to Amanda, she has made such a big difference to my life and how I deal with and feel about certain situations. She has helped retrain my brain to feel more positive and get rid of negative thoughts. Today I am moving to America and I although I am very apprehensive, I am trying to look at the experience in a positive way, which was certainly not how I was feeling before I saw Amanda. I went to see Amanda suffering from serious anxiety and stress which caused sleeping problems. After the very first time using the audio I had the best night's sleep I had had in months.

I was unsure what to expect but Amanda is very charming and friendly she makes you feel at ease straight away.

Amanda's therapy has helped retrain my brain to use the logical part to deal with problems.

I am calmer, sleeping better and feel able to cope with all that life throws at you. Amazing results and surprisingly quickly.

When I went to see Amanda for the first time I was in a very difficult place, Amanda was recommended to me by a very dear friend as I trusted her judgement I booked my first appointment. I was incredibly scared about everything so even doing something to help myself was a challenge. Amanda was so gentle,kind and supportive and even managed over the weeks to make me laugh. She is immensely warm and calming and the environment is like a little calm haven. Amanda is very honest and I would highly recommend her, it's a shame that Amanda and her amazing work can't be given out on prescription. The techniques she teaches you can be put into practice at any time which is very helpful. For me I am now in a much better place and that is mainly down to help from Amanda so a massive thank you I feel like my old self again? More...

I love helping people make the changes they need. Clients come along looking sceptical and nervous, feeling overwhelmed with their issue, and watching them make the changes they need to move forward with confidence is amazing.

I went through a divorce and then a few years later the bereavement of my new partner and I had Hypnotherapy for both of these to help me move forward and cope. I was fascinated at how effective it was, and decided I wanted to retrain to help others.
