Q&As

Working with dogs fills my soul. So I love the actual time I get to spend with the dogs and families. But what I love most is knowing that a dog had a happier more peaceful life because of what I brought. And that a family got to enjoy a special bond that might have been ruined by anxiety, or other behavior problem.

I founded Downtown Dogs Daycare and Boarding in 2004. I sold in 2014 and had an agreement not to compete as part of the sale. So I took some time to raise my newborn and toddler and opened a coworking space. But I missed dogs too much. Once I was ethnically and legally able to own a dog business again I opened Call of the K9 to help families and dog professionals.

Experience. Accountability. And general dog nerdiness combined with human emotional intelligence. I understand your dog and I can help you with patience and non judgement.

In order to make dog packs run effectively you have to have a deep and nuanced understanding of the intricacies of dog behavior. AND you have to be able to train other people to have and apply them.

So this translates directly into being able to help you with training and managing your dogs anxiety, fear of your partner, barking, puppy mouthing, and general out of control behavior.

In a large daycare, every day brings a new challenge and situation you haven't seen before. So you are constantly building on your dog and human training knowledge. Over a decade this leads to a wealth of in-depth knowledge, and a habit of staying on top of the latest health and behavior research and being able to apply that quickly to your situation.
