We hired Cal Petrescu to remodel our kitchen, expand our family room , aattach a detached garage and complete a finished basement. Our house was built in 1904 and Cal's reputation of blending old with with new preceded him. Our goal was to maintain the classic style of our home while updating the interior to a more transitional space suitable to today's needs. Cal did not disappoint. Cal oversaw a major renovation of our house that included not only re-doing the existing bathrooms and kitchen, but a complete reconfiguration of the main floor, installation of a new powder room, and adding on to the existing structure.
He was actively involved from planning to completion, and I am glad that I entrusted him to oversee the task because I could not have been more pleased with the outcome.
Cal brings enthusiasm, experience, and a keen eye; he had many terrific ideas, and was a pleasure to work with (especially in the way he helped us with the final design, selection of materials and a contractor, and his involvement throughout).
There are many considerations that go into a project, including design, budget, and construction, but for me? Well, working with Cal was the best. Not just in terms of design and retaining the right contractor, but also securing permits, following up on the progress of the work, and making well thought out adjustments when and where appropriate.
How often do you find someone you need to depend on who proves to be knowledgeable, creative, energetic, hard-working, and available; who is also honest, reliable, and reasonably priced? Cal is that guy.

Cal renovated my home on 3 seperate projects and did an excellent job. It was an extensive renovation, including 5 bathrooms, brand new kitchen, knocking down walls and bumping out to extend the house, and landscaping, He assisted with all aspects of the job, including picking appliances, tile, lighting, paint colors, finishes, etc. I would definitely use him again and would be happy to sreve as a reference More...
