We were recommended to Caked Up Cafe by our wedding venue Views at Mt Fuji after having a bad experience with a prior vendor. Although the frosting is a bit on the overly sweet size, the cupcake flavors are all unique and beautifully decorated. Very cute storefront and very kind staff that patiently lets kids decide which cupcakes they want. Called Inquiring on a cake for a Birthday. I was looking for a S'mores cake and wasn't sure if they made them, sure enough I was in luck. Denise was excellent at helping me get my order together which included the cake, a few Cupcakes, Cookies, and Macaroons. Having never had interaction with Caked Up before I didn't know how they were going to be but based on reviews I figured I would be good to go. The Cake was outstanding inside & out, more than what I could have expected and beyond pleased. I was unable to make it over to pick up the items myself but was informed the shop is perfect. WOW! That is all I could say. My boyfriend and I walked in before we went for lunch to see what they had because we were trying to waste time before the restaurant we went to for lunch opened and boy was I happy we did. We were so overwhelmed with the choice of cupcakes that we wanted them all. They have such a big variety of flavors of cupcakes including chicken and waffles, maple bacon, cannoli, and wayyy more. They even have macarons, loaf cakes, rainbow cookies, whole cakes, etc. We decided to go with the mini cupcakes that came in a pack of 12 which include 2 cupcakes of each flavor (oreo, death by chocolate, lemon, strawberry shortcake, dulce de leche, and cookie jar). They were all so great but I really enjoyed the lemon and oreo. We also had some pistachio macarons which were sooooo good. If I am ever in the area, I will definitely go back. Cute shops - the whole staff was friendly and happy. I was instantly smiling and laughing with the crew upon arrival. I shocked to find this pleasant surprise in the heart of herald square. They serve various desserts from cupcakes, crumb cakes, cookies. There personality seems to be in the cupcakes- theres chicken&waffles; chocolate coconut, etc. These aren't your basic vanilla cupcake. I got my daughters 8th birthday cake here and I can tell you I was not disappointed.  We went in for a consultation a month in advance.  Yes they appear to get many custom cakes orders and if you go too close to your event date, you probably won't be able to order.  My daughter requested a confetti cake with vanilla buttercream.  The design of the cake was a unicorn...colors were soft pink, purple and blue.  When I went to pick up the cake, it was ready and i didnt have to wait long.  The cake was beautiful.  Everyone had to comment on how pretty the cake looked.  It tasted amazing.  Best custom cake I've had by far!!!   Definitely recommend this place.  My daughter loved her cake and that smile was all I was looking for.  Thank you caked up! Amazing cupcakes! I'm sort of obsessed with cake & cupcakes - I am top tier for Sprinkles rewards program if that says anything. These are great! The flavors are extremely original & are not gimmicky. They work. Favorites are any of the ones with cinnamon cake/sugar - the churro one and the Nutella French toast were two amazing flavors one day. Cookie dough hits the spot for cookie dough flavor + cake. Peanut butter chocolate was good too. It's a denser cake but always moist.  And American buttercream (i.e. confectioners sugar "buttercream") which is my favorite - similar to Sprinkles, Magnolia, Billy's, etc.  So definitely sweet but that's a good thing!! Only complaint / suggestion to the owners - please consider non-plastic containers for the cupcakes.... Hope your pop-up becomes permanent!! ;) More...

I purchased my 30 birthday bday cake from this bakery and it was nothing short of amazing!! The detail of the cake was spot on to the photo that I provided. They were very nice during our consultation and attentive to what I wanted. I was more than happy when it was delivered to our venue and even more pleased at the taste of the cakes. Oohh my sweet tooth, what did I do This adorable little cupcake shop just opened up by my office and I kept walking by it trying to come up with an excuse to drop in. Well, today was the day. And my life changed forever!I swung by to get a few cupcakes for a friends birthday and ended up getting two for me and my husband as well. There are a lot of fun flavor choices from the conservative confetti cupcake to the adventurous chicken and waffles cupcake. The sizes are about midsize... not too daunting to share or indulge in yourself. The cake is moist, the frosting is fluffy and isn't too sweet. And each cupcake is decorated festively making them the perfect little presentation. I liked how they had carry out plastic containers for 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 cupcakes! Perfect for grab and go in NYC. The shop is small so not the place it grab and eat, more the place to grab and go. Pricing is fair ($4 per cupcake) and aside from cupcakes, they had a few cute little "cup in a jar" to go. I finally got the chance to visit caked up cafe ! And all I have ever dreamed of came true ! It is a foodie instagramers heaven ! Everything was beautiful and everything we purchased was delicious. We came in Around 1 on a Sunday afternoon to pick out a cake and some other treats for a family gathering. They have a whole fridge of beautifully decorated cakes that you can carry out and buy that day, which I thought was great because a lot of the Times cakes that look similar to that at other places would have to be a custom order. We got a cookie dough butter cream chocolate drip cake and it was as amazing as it sounds. We also tried a Reese's cookie and the rainbow cookie crumb cake ... and let me tell you the rainbow cookie crumb cake is really something special ! Stopped by this pop-up location last week! Grabbed 4 cupcakes- so delicious and sweet. I tried the baileys chocolate cupcake, strawberry cheesecake, chicken & waffle and banana bread Nutella! Each one was full of sweet flavor, the cheesecake had a graham crackers crust on the bottom and the Nutella cupcake was filled with Nutella goodness. They are pretty big so great to share! I ordered a 6in cake and 120 mini cupcakes for my sisters 40th birthday prty. They did an absolutely beautiful job. They accommodated the gluten allergy and everything was delicious. Those of us that live in the City can't so easily......and if you enjoy the New City location, and if you also come into the City, then you need to go to the 7th Ave location and tell all of your friends to go too. Why?Because these are the best cupcakes anyone will ever enjoy! Because they're the best, we'd like to keep the location here in the City. That means we should all do our best to support it! Groom: Sydney and Caked Up provided the cake for our wedding, and it was superb. Caked Up staff was pleasant and easy to work with, and they gave us plenty of options and suggestions for our fall wedding. We ended up going with a raspberry filling and chocolate/vanilla/creme cake. It was delicious! We highly recommend Cake Up for your wedding needs.Bride: My husband and I were so happy to have Caked Up! make our wedding cake. Sydney was great to work with. Originally we had no clue on the design but, with her suggestions and guidance, we ended up with a cake that photographed beautifully. We did do two tastings: one in the summer and one in early fall.
