I'll just start off by saying I always order my cakes from Cake Gallery - not only are they delicious but they're gorgeous and I always get compliments and friends inquiring on where I get them. Anyway, I ordered a cake over the phone a day before I needed it to be picked up, the receptionist or whatever said it could be done in time but sounded hesitant - I asked her if she was sure, and she said she would "check" and then assured me it will be done in time. She asked how I want the cake to look, and I asked if he (Tuan, the owner) could do a sunflower and she said she doesn't think he would have time. She mentioned she could make the frosting on the cake pink, so I said that fine, and just make any kind of flower that will look good "I trust you guys". Picked up the cake and of course was done in time BUT now there's a sunflower on the cake and in my opinion doesn't look good with a pink cake. If I knew he would be able to do the sunflower I wouldn't have the cake pink! I asked the lady ringing me up if someone other than Tuan wrote on the cake and she mentioned so and so did and that they are really busy with wedding cakes that they had to split up the work load - I just hope she isn't writing on anyone's wedding cake bc the lettering is fat and ugly and looks like someone at Walmart Bakery did it. I'll be sure to mention on my next order specifically, that I only want Tuan to decorate the cake. And now I'm done complaining. P.S The cake was still good but just didn't have the signature look that I love! More...

Tony did a very good job with our wedding cake! The initial tasting meeting was a lot of fun, and it was very helpful to be able to taste the various flavors of fillings and different combinations. We picked chocolate cake with cherry filling and chocolate buttercream. Several of our guests commented on how delicious the cake was. One other thing to note in your wedding planning is Cake Gallery has cake stands for rent for a reasonable fee and deposit. My wedding cake was delicious! I was a little worried about ordering a cake as I do not like very sweet cakes and am particular about them. I have to say - I was not in the least disappointed. I brought pictures to show Tony what I wanted on my cake and he was able to incorporate everything I told him into a beautiful beach theme cake. I had a 3 tier - vanilla, banana and strawberry cake. Tony at Cake Gallery is a master artist when it comes to cake! Not only were our wedding and groom's cake gorgeous, but they were delicious too! I still have guests asking me "where did you get your cake, it was amazingly tasty?!" Our groom's cake was made to look like a bar tap. Several folks thought it was real, but even more didn't realize it was a cake until it was cut! Unfortunately, with our wedding cake, my husband and I only got the piece we shared ceremoniously. Fortunately, there was a little bit of groom's cake left over. We will definitely be getting an anniversary cake from Cake Gallery, and we will use them in the future for other events. I thought a Publix cake would be cheaper, but when you customize one at Publix, they upcharge you. The price ended up being equivalent to Cake Gallery, but the cake was better and the experience was way more personable with Tony Tuan at the helm! The staff was always courteous when I called, too. I was coming in from Houston, TX looking for a place close to where I would be dinning and that offered delivery. I called to let them know and was greeted by Katrina who was very helpful. I explained to her that I wanted a small cake for myself and my party of 5 and that I would be eloping and needed a small wedding cake. She instantly emailed me pictures and followed up to make sure I received them. Once I told her what I wanted in my small wedding cake the next day the owner called me back to confirm my request. I arrived to Pensacola 2 days prior to my wedding date to pay for the cake and see the place it was coming from. I was greeted by the owner who was super friendly and confirmed with me again my request. Long story short... This was by far the best cake I HAVE EVER HAD! All of the desserts that I have had from here were the best pieces of baked goodness I have ever had.  There isn't a lot of goodies on the show case, but I am sure that you will enjoy any thing that they do have for sale.  I have had the Chocolate Petafour, Almond Petafour, PB Bombe, and Raspberry French Macarons.  French Macarons need to be pre-ordered by the dozen.  Well worth it I promise. Tony at Cake Gallery does AMAZING work. He created the most beautiful cake to fit my tight budget, and it tasted PHENOMENAL. I ate two pieces of it at the reception! I have received so many compliments on it, and cannot wait to tear into that top tier on our first anniversary. It was so good that at one point during our honeymoon, my fiance looked at me and said "You know what I really wish we could have brought with us? Some more of that cake!" I was in town visiting from NY and had to pick up a cake for my mothers 50th birthday party. Ordered a 2 layer cake with choclate mousse filling and chocolate covered strawberries on top. The butter cream frosting was great, but definitely give it some time to warm up after you take it out of the firdge or it may be too hard to really enjoy, though it will still melt in your mouth. For those of us who were in mourning/withdrawal after the closing of Sweet Things on Mobile Hwy, it's time to rejoice. Tuan has re-opened on Garden Street with a beautiful bakery featuring his stunning cakes, pastries and other sinful treats. Diabetics beware; this is not a safe place for you.For starters, the place is elegant, and it looks like it was lucked off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The proof, however, is in the product, and Tuan delivers in a big way. Each pastry is perfectly decorated with impeccable attention to detail. There is a sizable selection of goodies available for takeout. Unlike his prior location, there are no table for having coffee and dessert in the store - yet. Plans are in the works to do this in the future. As far as savory lunch offerings, that is hopefully not far behind.Tuan does custom orders, and wedding cakes are one of his specialties.
