I've eaten here twice. First was brunch—sweet potato pecan pancakes. Amazing. Second time was New Orleans style roast beef poboy. Even more amazing—slow-cooked roast beef in a perfect roux. Good as anything in New Orleans (sorry Parkway and Tracey's). Neighborhood atmosphere. Good service. Fabulous food. Reasonable prices. I highly recommend it. More...

A delightful little spot to drop in if you're up for breakfast.
Get a satisfying breakfast with eggs cooked to your style, fluffy pancakes, a tall glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, fried potatoes, and crispy bacon in long strips.
but not a greasy spoon! I think they also have grits.
Also, they have a Sunday brunch special for mimosas with quality champagne.
This stuff takes pride in their service and spray down their tables after every customer.a very clean place where you feel like you can relax to enjoy your meal.

I've only been here twice, but they were both for my wife's schools Christmas dinner. The food is always plentiful and tasty, the service and atmosphere too. I recommended for anybody looking to host a party and need a location with great food and service. I'll have to try it as just a regular customer one day. More...

Had the grilled shrimp and fried green tomatoes off the appetizer menu. Plenty for lunch. Friendly servers, nice atmosphere. Great place for a business lunch.

My only experience at Café Americain was for an event, however, I was very impressed. We only had 1 waitress for a group of 18 and she was amazing. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Highly recommended. More...

Love this place, nice rustic atmosphere and always great food. Seems like a very underrated place. Do not leave without trying the sweet potato hush puppies.
