We had lunch for the first time at Caet and it will NOT be the last.The staff was friendly and helpful. The menu had a good variety of dishes. If you can not find something you want, you are ready to eat. It was a party of 4 and we all ordered different items. The food was great. We met some friends at CAET for dinner, and everything on our table during the night was superb! // FIRST DISH - The Pimento Cheese Toast app - Man oh man. Toasted sourdough bread served with melty pimento cheese and topped with a warm bacon jam. I’m still thinking about that bacon jam. This may be one of my favorite apps ever. // SECOND DISH - Charcuterie - We love a good charcuterie! We really liked the variety on the board, but wished that it had more meat. // THIRD DISH - CAET House Salad - Salad Days’ lettuce, a fried goat cheese fritter (!!!!! SO GOOD) candied walnuts, red grapes, pickled onions with a sherry vinaigrette. This is the best “house” salad I’ve had. Ever. // FOURTH DISH - Filet - Wood grilled with a red wine sauce, this steak was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. // FIFTH DISH - Hangar Steak - Cooked in a cast iron skillet, served sliced and topped with a blue cheese butter. Mmmmm. // SIXTH DISH - CAET House-Cut Fries - Served with 3 sauces (chipotle ketchup, honey mustard, duck fat aioli), these things are hard to stop eating. Like, I could have eaten my weight in them. // SEVENTH DISH - Blondie + Coffee Ice Cream - Honestly, we were really stuffed after eating everything else on our table. But, we just couldn’t pass up dessert, and this blondie hit the spot. Served warm and topped with caramel and chocolate sauces and coffee ice cream. This was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! The lunch special with blackened catfish was really good and for a decent price. I had the truffled Mac and cheese and the fried green tomatoes and they were both really great. I have been wanting to come to the restaurant for months and I am glad that I did. The inside and outside is beautiful. The food was great. The house salad with the goat cheese fritters and candied walnuts was out of this world. Every other house salad I have ever eaten needs to give me an apology.For an entree, I had the Spicy NOLA Shrimp and Grits. Best shrimp and grits in the Metro area. Came here for dinner (kitchen closes at 9pm) but the still accommodated us. Ordered CAET redfish and scallop appetizer. Both had balanced flavor without overwhelming the natural flavor of the meat. I've been here a few times and every time it's been great!They're known for their wines, which are excellent and expansive. But they also have an awesome specialty cocktail menu as well as a good liquor selection. I've eaten here for a work event and the appetizer selection was awesome. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Food was fresh and delicious. The kung pao shrimp is AMAZING!!! If you are extremely sensitive to spice than just be careful but I absolutely loved it. The lobster rolls are tasty as well. My friend ordered lamb sliders which was also a big hit. Also ordered the 8 oz Hereford filet and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love risotto so had to try the butternut squash risotto. Very yummy. For dessert I got the platinum Blondie and also ordered the Apple crumb cake. Both are rich in flavor and if you have a sweet tooth it will definitely finish the meal off well. Highly recommend this spot!!! More...
