How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
There should be a minimum of around 2.4 metres from the loft joists to the underside of the highest timber (ridge beam).
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Loft conversions can often be achieved without panning permission, however a similar design process is required, along with technical drawings and engineers calculations for building control. Depending on your property you may also need to get a party wall agreement with your neighbours.
Once you have all necessary permissions and agreements in place you can appoint a builder to carry out the work.
