Butterflies Bereavement Support was created by a group of people who had experienced bereavement and loss and who have used their skills and experience to ensure that all people have full access to a specialist bereavement support network at the time of need for their family and friends.
Since its inception, the service has grown and through the massive network of professionals we are able to offer a comprehensive range of services that support people not just after they have lost someone special but also before, so that the support is available and that they can plan ahead.
All of our volunteers have been officially checked in line with Home Office Requirements and have Enhanced DBS checks. These are reviewed regularly. The Volunteers also have access to ongoing training, supervision and support and attend regular team meetings.
We are organisational members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
As one volunteer described our service " Watching users struggling to get thro the door.. Short time.. Holding a hand, sharing.. Leaving with a hint of a smile."
I thoroughly recommend joining with your nearest group, already after my first meeting, I am feeling a little better.
