After being a bridesmaid on Sunday for my beautiful cousin and experiencing first hand how Kim conducts her photography, I can honestly say she is incredible. Throughout the day, Kim worked tirelessly to capture every special moment with both the bridal party and then group shots with friends and family. She is unobtrusive, considerate and thoughtful in her personality for all wedding attendees and very creative with getting the pictures - especially as we had so many young children in the wedding party. Kim Whitewood takes outstanding photo's she has a special rapport with people especially children, being a mother herself and such a caring person makes children feel at ease quickly bringing out their personalities, which results in fantastic photos that make your heart melt.

We have been having our children's photographs taken by Kim for roughly 5 years now and I have to say that each time she does a shoot with them she completely blows us away. I can NEVER choose just one print as each individual shot is so beautiful. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
For the client and photographer to be relaxed with each other. To trust that each person knows and trusts what is expected from each of them. If you like, trust and have confidence in your photographer your have nothing to worry about!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask what there requirements are for photography including whether they would like completely natural or family groups or a mixture of both styles. We would talk about their location of their venue and how I could photograph their pre-wedding shoot at the venue or my studio near to Bovingdon. Finally we would talk through the plan for their special day.
What do you love most about your job?
My journey as a professional photographer began when I started assisting as a wedding photographer and it has naturally evolved from there. I loved being part of such an intimate, special and romantic day and capturing a moment in time. Once I’d had my own family, I couldn’t stop photographing them, so it felt natural to add family portraits to my wedding offering.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My family is my inspiration for being a photographer. For me, family is the most important part of my life. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and devoted mum to my two gorgeous girls, Ella and Sienna.
