We've used Thomas Burke Roofing on several occasions now when shingles that were installed by a previous roofer started blowing off in high winds. He's done a great job each time we've used him. I called them and got the owner, not an answering machine, on my first try. Explained to him my problem, I had a leak around a dryer vent. He told me he would put me on a very short list and would get back to me soon. I few days later my son tells me there were some guys on the roof that morning. I looked up and seen the repairs were done, I got a bill in the mail a week or so later, very reasonable. They were prompt, just like they said they would be and the price was just what he estimated it would be. ( He estimated the price on the phone without seeing the roof at the time assuming the problem was as I thought it was, he could have charged more claiming the problem was worse and I would have not known) Honesty and professional work done in a prompt fashion. Called Tom Burke for an estimate and he came in a few days and explained everything he thought I needed done.I contracted for a roof replacement,ridge vent,gutters,down spouts and a flat roof. Mr. Burke was taught the business by his father at a young age and continues to operate his business with great pride. He treats people the way he wishes to be treated; this is a wonderful quality that results in a job well done. Integrity is another quality that Thomas Burke exemplifies; he gives his word and he keeps to his word. My roof started leaking in 2015 so I hired a contractor to do a patch job. The patch did not last long and my roof started leaking again in 2018. I hired Thomas Burke Roofing & Gutters to do a complete replacement. I had to wait until 2019 to be on the schedule because they have so many clients, but I'm glad I did. Thomas Burke and crew did an excellent job. The roof looks fantastic, was done in only 2 days and I finally have a ridge vent! They cleaned up everything. No debris from old shingles or wrappings from the new shingles left on the lawn and no damage to my house or siding. They were fast, efficient and reasonably priced. Thomas was super nice to talk to. He explained everything and when I mentioned that my neighbor had his roof replaced in 2018 and it was already leaking, he was able to determine the problem area and reason why just by looking across the street! We had seen the Thomas Burke truck/crew at a neighbor's house and were impressed by their work; a bonus was that the small crew worked efficiently and without boom boxes (a major plus)! When we called to see about doing the roof on our house, Thomas Burke returned the call promptly, came over to give an estimate, and was very personable. Last year I had them install gutter on one side of my house and because of the great job this company did for me, this year I contracted them to do the other side of my roof and gutters in Peabody and complete roof and gutters in Salem. This is a family business and I met Thomas and his son Michael and the crew that worked on both properties and I fell that they deserve 10 stars from me for the workmanship and friendly atmosphere. Called for a quote on a new roof for my home and 2 car garage. Tom came right over and gave his estimate. His quote was fair and reasonable. We got 3 other quotes as well. He said that he would be able to get us in his book for 4-6 weeks and would be complete within 2 days. His estimate was right on target. Showed up on the day he said and the job was complete in 2 days. The crew that came were excellent and professional. They got right to work and did an excellent job. The roof looks fabulous. This project relates to a church. Tom came immediately after our phone call to him and saw what we needed done to the roof. The quote for all work necessary seemed fair and the time frame in which he could take care of it fit well within our schedule. Thomas Burke and his crew were professional, pleasant and extremely fast. The day we called him for a quote he came right out. He estimated when he could come do the work, and he kept that promise (actually exceeded that timing as I did ask if he could do it quicker). The quote was fair and we had no issues with it. I have used Thomas Burke Roofing serveral times and have always been satisfied. Their work and materials they use are of highest quality. (I know I work with architects). The first job a couple of years ago was a leaking skylight and Thomas Burke was the only roofer that responded- and I had called everyone in my area. Next job I had a tree damage my garage roof and the Thomas Burke crew rebuilt the whole roof including rafters. When last fall another tree damaged my main house and addition I knew Thomas Burke was the only roofer I could trust with the job. His great crew came in freezing weather and did a wonderful job reroofing the whole side, repairing the woodwork and replacing the gutters and downspouts. We needed a new roof so asked a neighbor for referrals. He had two in mind, but he gave us Thomas's number saying how Thomas's reputable, dependable, fast and professional with fair prices and superior work. We called Thomas the next day and from the start we knew Thomas had a style where he cares about his customers. My husband talked through a few things with him, and the next day I did too. Each time we felt more and more like we were talking to a family member. His crew arrived right on time as did Thomas. They were all polite, respectful of our property, and clearly skilled. His son was part of the crew also, and had an incredible work ethic. We didn't even know until we heard him address Thomas as "dad". I mention this because you can tell a lot by a family-owned business based on how the family treats each other. The work was done fast and efficiently, Thomas was there every day in the beginning and at the end (it was just 2 days, plus another couple hours later to install high-end gutters). Thomas Burke roofing gets 5 stars from this beach house. I had Mr Burke and his incredibly professional team repair a patch on my roof before winter 2017, now after 4 Nor'easters in a row with 50 mph plus wind gusts and a blizzard the patch remained intact! I had another company a couple years ago do a patch and it never performed this well. I will never let another company touch my roof and I will recommend Thomas Burke roofing to my friends and neighbors. The conditions we have here are not for the faint hearted and in that regard we need contractors that are good because of the conditions and when we find them you don't go anywhere else. I recently hired Thomas Burke Roofing. The job was started as promised. They left the yard clean. The workers were great, no complaints. They answered all my questions. Mr. Burke recommended a rubber roof on a section of the roof due to the very minimal pitch, which no other roofer pointed out to me. I thought his knowledge and honesty was forthcoming.
