Great Indian food and great service! Nothing bad to say about this place. Chicken vindaloo, tikka masala, puffy, savory samosas, imported beers. You can't go wrong here.

We decided to try Bukhara after seeing it mentioned on Nextdoor. It is well worth finding it on the frontage road. The new owners took it over in June and oh my, the food is amazing. Do not go to this restaurant thinking it's fast food. Sit, relax and visit with your family or friends. The food is cooked fresh and flavorful and steaming hot. We brought a vegan friend with us and she was thrilled with all the choices. We all agreed it was the best Indian food any of has had in forever. We tried lots of dishes using their diner for two options. We ordered one diner for two for the meat loving people and one diner for two with vegetable dishes. While the samosas were very good, the onion pakora was perfection. We highly recommend Peshawri Naan. I've never had anything that tasted like that before. The flavor explosion was exceptional. The Gobi Manchurian was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We will be going back because the food and service was very good. The owners were welcoming and the atmosphere relaxed. More...

Well, after eight years living in Minnesota we finally found our favorite Minnesota Indian restaurant-Bukhara Indian Bistro. They served the most delicious Chicken Tikka Masala we have had in many years and the best in MN. My wife orders mild and I get the mid hot dish. Both were very delicious and the Naan was excellent- as recommended in many of the posts. It arrived hot and cooked just right. Even though this restaurant is more than 35-mins away from our home, I expect we will return again and again. More...

Located in an odd-strip mall on the north I-394 frontage road in Wayzata, Bukhara is a destination; seeing it from the highway one would have no clue how to get to it. They've been at this location for 12 years, so there have to be a lot of fans.If you make the effort to find Bukhara, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the service, menu and quality of the food. The vegetable samosas dipped in the homemade tamarind sauce (which they sell for $10/±pint) are delicious. The lamb madrassa was excellent, even though it was served not as spicy as I had requested. The tandoori chicken was cooked to perfection and delicious. The papadam was crisp and had just enough of a bite to make it memorable. All dishes come with white basmati rice and buttered nan.The portions are generous. If you ask for a container for leftovers they'll also bring a fresh dish of basmati rice at no charge. It's a challenge to find Bukhara, but well worth the effort! More...

This is one of favorite restaurants in the state. I always go with the vegetarian dishes when I dine at Bukhara to take a reprieve from meat. The vegetarian dishes are always fresh and full of flavor and the rice and Naan bread are always cooked to perfection. The food is consistently good, which is hard to find, as some of my other favorites can be hit or miss. To top it off, the place has a nice vibe, has very low prices, is quiet and the tables are always set with linen, giving the restaurant a classy feel. Just a great place to have a nice dinner. Try it! More...

I ate here with a group of 6 on a Saturday and reservations were very easy. The samosas were very tasty and the tamarind sauce and mint chutney were excellent. The naan was good - a bit thinner and crispier than I personally prefer. All of the main entrees were good but despite ordering each to be spicy they lacked spice. I'd say the hot was much closer to a medium spice. As a result the flavor was a bit lacking. The service was good and flexible when we decided after closing our check to stay for dessert and more drinks. Overall I enjoyed my meal and it was a good place for a bigger group! More...

This was the first time I had ever tried Indian food and I am so glad I got to have this great experience. I had no idea what to order and the server was so so patient. He let us go back and look at the buffet, which he said was very popular, and the options were just a little to out of my comfort zone so he explained some menu options. Ended up having the Bukhara special and it was so good. All the meats were well cooked and flavorful. If I lived in the area I would go back often! More...

Bukhara is tucked away in a strip mall overlooking the highway, which is not the best location. Nevertheless, it is a solid Indian restaurant that serves a mostly gluten free menu that was safe for at least this Celiac! When I asked about gluten, the staff was not quite clear on what actually contained it, but from experience, I know that anything with gluten other than obviously fried things (pakora, fried paneer, etc) at an Indian restaurant run by Indian people is pretty unusual and decided to chance it with the possibility of finding a neighborhood Indian buffet. And I am glad I did! (The server did verify that nothing other than the fried things contained flour, and I have never been to an Indian restaurant using rye or barley!). Food wise, this was a very solid buffet with a lot of choices even avoiding fried items - including three desserts! There were maybe 4 stellar items, 6 or so good items, and a couple pretty plain. Will definitely will become our new fallback Indian buffet in this area. More...

Staying at a nearby hotel, I wanted something healthy and flavorful. And you can't get much more healthy and flavorful that a bunch of kabobs, amiright? I placed an order for pick-up, and it was ready in about 20 minutes. I had the Bukhara Special (malai kabob, boti kabob, shrimp, tikka, and tandoori) as well as a Fish Tikka (salmon). It came with garlic naan, and I added some raita. I couldn't wait to dig in as soon as I got in my car and the aromas took over. The portions are a bit small for the price, but man oh man, it was all delicious! The garlic naan was the perfect vessel to create build-my-own kabob wraps, and the raita was smooth and tasty, and full of shredded carrots and cucumbers. Not a bad option at all from the plethora of chain restaurants nearby. More...

Visiting from California, I didn't have very high hopes looking for an Indian restaurant close to my hotel in MN. So just decided to checkout Bukhara as that was closest to Hotel Landing. And man, I was taken by surprise for a fun ride!!You can pretty much judge an Indian restaurant by Tandoori Chicken, Butter chicken and naan and so, sure enough I ordered all 3. Everything from decor, music, the very humble staff, their exceptional prompt service, and most importantly FOOD was amaaaaazing!!! I can't comment on the lunch buffet, but for dinner if you are craving phenomenal Indian food, this is your place to go!In talking to staff, I learnt that the owner has been cooking for 15 years and never does he even offload the cooking task to any of the staff. Yelp reviews looked good, so decided to give it a shot. For the twin cities, it has one of the better buffets. Without a doubt, their tandoori chicken, naan, reshmi kabab and fish pakora were top class. Was not a fan of the CTM (chicken tikka masala), they had beef curry, chicken curry and some veggie dishes.
