Had the best lunch and kombucha !!! Super clean and great atmosphere !!! Definitely going back again for the pickle flatbread .
What an excellent class and an amazing place! Great job to the owners Lindsey and RJ Marvin for teaching us all about fermentation! Plus, I got to try Kombucha for the first time (delicious) as well as make and take home my own sauerkraut! More...
Finally made it here after following their Facebook page for over a year. Had the ginger kambuca and it was amazing! Our party ordered avocado toast with salmon, kombucha flight and mimosa. Such an awesome time with friends. Good food and drink. The owners great you and check in on how your doing. Highly recommend! More...
Great array of kombuchas on tap, craft beer, and a nice menu of snacks and sandwiches. We split a pastrami on rye (The Mensch sandwich) and it was spectacular. The Fuji Apple/Green Tea Kombucha was great! Bought a growler ($15) to take some home too. The pickle plate is great too. The owners are also really friendly and the space is beautiful. More...
I love the vibe of both this place and Chandler Street. It is hard to find, but it is in a court yard that also contains Blackbird. They offer a variety of snacks. I was drinking across the way at Blackbird, and my friend and I wanted to go over there and see what they had. They have fried Cheerios, which I was intrigued, but not enough to order them. I settled on the pickled egg, which was pickled in beets. At seedy bars there are always pickled eggs in a glass container waiting for the drunk people to eat. I've wanted to try a pickled egg while out drinking, but I don't go to seedy placed. This turned out perfect. I liked the flavor. I'm not really big into hard boiled eggs, but this was good. My friend ordered a pickled sausage, and she said she liked it. I have had their kombucha before, and it was good. More...
I think I might have had the best sandwich of my (pretty long) life... The Mensch! Something like a Reuben with B&B homemade corned beef, sauerkraut and mustard...omg try it, you’ll LOVE it!
Everything is so good, you need to try it!
Barrel + Brine just took blackrock and Chandler street to a whole other level!!! the kombucha is phenomenal and you can make a chandy with some of the beer on tap! they also mixed me up a whiskey and ginger lemon kombucha shot that was out of this world!!! More...
Ok - amazing spot. I am a big fan of fermented food - namely pickles and kraut. This place is a Mecca of good vibes - fantastic small bites and definitely kombucha. Will definitely return!
Great new spot! Fantastic food and a great selection of kombucha! Really excited to see all the new additions to the menu and watching this awesome new business grow! Cant wait to be back!
Holy moley! This place is cute and comfortable. Staff is awesome! Pickled sausage is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Try the Steam punk Koumbaca! Left with $45 worth of pickles and probiotoc drinks. Will be back!!!! More...

Great products by great people!!
best pickles and kombucha in the city. love the kimchee and krauts also.
Best Kraut I have ever tried! Can't wait to make the lazy pierogi with this!
I love Barrel + Brine! Their kombucha is my absolute favorite in WNY! They did a limited cold brew batch a few months ago that was excellent! The owners are super passionate and super friendly. I love that they are so involved and really encourage you to try different things during a visit to the shop. I can't wait for their new location!!! More...

The very absolute best tasting Kimchi.
Brought them to a Buffalo Bills tailgate- everyone loved them, especially the sours! Best pickles, keep it up!
best deli dill pickles and kombucha brew!
Best Kombucha ever!!!! Makes my work day even better when I am drinking your Ginger & Lemon. Hope more stores pick up your products!
Just tried the Horseradish Pickles. So Good! Need do do something with the brine when the pickles are gone. That Brine Is Liquid Gold. Any ideas?
Where do I begin?! By far the best fermented products in New York state let alone in the Northeast. I used to have my fermented sauerkraut shipped all the way (overnight)from California after tasting over a hundred different ones local and others in the Northeast. Buffalo Barrel and Brine far exceeds in both taste and quality offering vibrant crunch and delicious flavor that even small children can't help but become addicted to. Not only that their pickles and kombucha are superior and truly delectable. My favorite part of all is the quality of service, care and love in their products. The owners are courteous and friendly and truly have a heart and passion for what they do. A trip to the shop is like a visit to friends. Keep up the awesome job you guys have gone above and beyond to keep my family healthy. We all thank you especially our daughter Willow! More...
Buffalo Barrel and Brine are the best fermenters around! Whether you're into pickles or the kombucha or just the delicious krauts you can't go wrong! The service is unsurpassed and owners are so sweet and you can feel the love in every jar/bottle of their products. My kiddos even love it and they are only four! I have tried sauerkraut from all over the U.S. and I used to have it shipped all the way from California because no local ones had the flavor and quality that I sought. Well then Buffalo Barrel and Brine came along and stole my heart and my whole family's taste buds. The quality is in both taste and texture. Not to mention the value in affordability.... we should all pinch yourself that this awesome product is need rate in our local city! More...
FIRE AND ICE pickles with whiskey! Amazing products great prices!

I was not here on this particular day, but, I tagged them! They make the Champagne of Kombucha was my point! Bootleg Kombucha is Budwiser in comparison! Whole Foods and The Lexington Co-op got on board, now let's see what we can do about Wegman's carrying the best Buffalo Booch Brew you can get! More...
A big shout-out to Barrel + Brine. The pickled cherries were fantastic and they went out of their way to make sure two out-of-towners would be able to try them before the official release! I also picked up bottle of kombucha and jar of Bloody Mary mix that was absolutely worth finding room for in my overweight suitcase. More...
I have purchased several items from them and I have not one complaint about anything. Their Bloody Mary mix is to die for if you are a pickle fan. It's made with their pickle juice. Fantastic! They have unique fermented items, some of which are seasonal. I just picked up their once-a-year pickeled Manhatten cherries. People will fight over these, and they sell out in about an hour. Their krauts and pickles are like nothing else you've seen. Flavor combinations like IPA pickles, Chinese spice, and beet/caraway kraut. But if you are not that adventurous, don't fret. They have regular dills and kraut too. Look for these guys at stores and markets throughout WNY. Check out their website for where they are selling. More...
My whole life I've been a dill pickle eater, never deviating from that choice. But Barrel + Brine's Fire & Ice pickles are the way and the light. I've gone through two jars in a week. Great pickles all around here, but those Fire & Ice ones are something else. More...
I purchased several items on Sat. Sept. 23rd. I left my black sweater on a shelf near the door. I have called several times during business hours and no one will answer the phone. I would appreciate a response so I can pick up my sweater. Contact me at 716 713-9059 More...
Went and got the classic kraft and gator toes pickles..... soooooo good ..l do yourself a HUGE favor and treat yourself to some goodies from these serious craftsmen !
Checked them out at VegFest this year. 5 stars across the board. Can't wait to try more of their product line!
Took a walking tour of the West Side with a group of friends. This was our first stop. I LOVE pickles, so was super excited to try some dills from here. We chatted with the owner for a few minutes and had the pleasure of sampling some of the kombucha. This was my first time trying kombucha and I was pretty impressed! I tried the ginger & lemon, orange & hibiscus, and the blueberry lavender. The blueberry lavender was my favorite. I purchased a jar of the NY Deli pickles and we ate them immediately. Yummm! I will definitely look for their products while shopping. They will be in Whole Foods in the fall! More...
Awesome customer service ! Clean facility and great products !

Best healthiest, tastiest market in Buffalo. Pickles to die for, but don't stop there, kimchi, kombucha, sauerkraut and more. Fermented foods increase your probiotic biome making you healthier! I love a shot of kimchi juice and the Bloody Mary pickles. The Marvins are the apex of fermentation. More...
Multiple versions of handkrafted Kraut, superior kimchi with a kick, outstanding pickles with great composition and flavor, who could ask for more, and there is more, check it out and eat Happy!!!
If you like pickles than you need to get here. If you don't like pickles you are probably a horrible person. This place is a great example of a locally owned business that puts out a great product and constantly strives to outdo itself with all sorts of pop ups and new products.
Awesome products and staff! Just stocked up my daughter for her next 5 weeks away at school.
2 of the nicest and most reputable people in the local food service industry. Their small batch kombucha is the real deal, kraut the best I've had and their pickles, especially half spurs, the best this side of Brooklyn. If you've missed their pop ups, do yourself a favor and don't miss the next one. More...
We stopped but today and so glad we did. Everything we bought was delicious. Mustard was amazing, beets/kraut and pickles to die for and the kombucha was excellent too. We will be making trips there often. More...
I am obsessed with the pickles...especially the Bloody Mary flavor! I have loved everything I have tried here & the owners are always so nice!
I love everything about Barrel and Brine!! We were first introduced to them at Aurora Brew works when we purchased some horseradish dills and IPA dills. Outstanding. Then we started purchasing their sauerkraut because my husband makes his signature dish with it... the Reuben dog! Their sauerkraut is the best. Slightly crunchy, not mushy like the supermarket kinds.I visited the elmwood Bidwell farmers market this fall and stopped by their tent and purchased their Bloody Mary mix. I swear barrel and brine can do no wrong. Everything we purchase of theirs is AMAZING! Truly the best. I was so happy to be able to visit their storefront on the west side. What a cute little shop.We did not see any kraut in the fridge, so we asked. The employee was very happy to help us and get us 2 fresh from the barrel jars of their kraut. So happy that barrel and brine is a local business that consistently produces a quality product and very reasonable prices. The Fire Tonic!!! I had a bad head cold and this amazing concoction took it right out of me in 2 days!! Better than any medicine!!
The best Bucha in WNY by far... and I have tried all 3 local varieties that I know of. Also...best ferments, best Kimchi - not overpoweringly hot, but just spot on. Anything Barrel + Brine makes is top quality... More...

Had just what we wanted and are very friendly. Will definitely return.
Best pickles, kombucha, and kraut you will find in the area!
Great prices beautiful atmosphere honest people.
I am a big fan of the NY Deli Dill pickles and the Beet Kraus rocks! Very friendly owners that let us try samples. We will be back!
I feel like anyone truly from NYC (I lived there until I was 17) would understand the difference between a fermented pickle and one that is made with vinegar. Barrel + Brine offers both. They're NY deli dills are good, and flavorful as well as their bread and butters. I had the chance to have one of their fermented sours at the farmers market and it was delicious. Reminded me of the pickle guys in NYC, but with more garlic. More...
Stopped by the Elmwood Bidwell market today and had my first taste. I now know what everyone has been raving about! All varieties I sampled were delicious with the perfect crisp factor. That jar of fire and ice will not last long, I'll see you again real soon! More...

I have had Kombucha from places all across the country- and yours by far is the best! And your Million Dollar Pickles are 5 star! My favorite!

For at least the last ten years, I had been on a quest to find old, sour, garlic pickles like the ones I had in the Jewish delis of my youth. They were sour and the pickles were flexible - only really crunchy upon eating them. Enter Barrel and Brine. After an empassioned description, they went back and delivered some gorgeous dills that were definitely the right color. And the whole house, complete with friends staying over, tried a pickle. Holy crap. They were freaking astounding. I was suddenly back in Mastman's Deli on Hertel about 40 years ago. These were really the best pickles I had had in most of my life. Their regular deli dills and Bread & Butters kick butt, too. The owners and pickle mavens are wonderful and totally down to earth. I'm cool until Saturday, but I will be getting some more. Awesome, delicious, and time transporting for this little gray haired lady. More...
Bought some kimchi here today - it is very good, also got some sour pickles and kraut!
Przybyl Horozko Pam
Me and my daughter stop there Saturday to get some tea and some kimchi both were sold out but we still pick up some beet kraut, Bloody Mary pickle, kraut and other items too. Omg I love this place wish they were closers to us but I'll have to make a trip out to them. I can just eat this all the time More...
While chocolate is my favorite fermented food, all of them are worth a try. Why? Because the more we learn about the gut microbiome, the more we understand how eating fermented foods is helpful both physically and psychologically. This new business, in a very pretty area off Johnson Park, is just the ticket to get you started on your quest to find the fermented foods you like best. (Parking was easy-peasy.)They have a wide variety of pickles, Kimchi, and sauerkraut. By the time I got there today they were sold out of a number of things, but I bought a jar of Kimchi, $7 (or three for $6 each). It's pungent, complex, crunchy, and spicy, but not wildly spicy.I am looking forward to trying the bread and butter pickles, as well as some of their more unusual offerings. More...
Finally managed to stop in before the Sabers game last night. Definitely worth the wait!!! Both the Million Dollar, and IPA pickles are AWESOME! !!! Can't wait to try the Kraut, Curry Kraut, and the Kimchi!!!!! More...

Just tried the Kraut and I LOVE it!!! It's absolutely delicious! Great job!
I learned this place was coming when I went to a benefit earlier this year and they had a table. They served some fantastic pickled things there. Yum. Could not wait for them to open. But I had to. For a while. And the date seemed to keep getting pushed back. But, the wait was worth it. The place is so cute. They have done a great job in making a welcoming place where you can sit for a moment. And perhaps eat one of your pickles. They don't have a lot of inventory yet, but it's coming. Soon I hope. Right now pickles, in a few flavors, are jarred and available for sale. Can't wait to try more! The owner came from Elm Street Bakery. Parking is street.2036 More...
