About bucks osteopathy

As osteopaths - we treat all ages from new born babies to the elderly, office workers to professional sports people.

We are registered with the General Osteopathic Council and members of the Institute of Osteopathy.

Sarah and Rob have 18 years experience between them. Sarah is the principle practitioner at Bucks Osteopathy with clinics in Amersham, Chesham, Hazlemere and a newly opened clinic in Gerrards Cross.

The techniques used are based on current medical research gained from regularly updating my learning by attending post graduate courses, regional osteopathic meetings and study groups (Sarah has completed 15 days of courses in the last year alone!).

Although the majority of our work centres around treatment of back, neck, hip, knee, ankle, shoulder pain, headaches and sports injuries, Sarah's area of special interest lies in the treatment of sciatica or "trapped nerves" leading to leg or arm pain. She has done extensive training with the Barral Institute using the very latest research based techniques. This a very gentle approach working fascia (the body's connective tissue) which patients have found to be effective.

Sarah's second area of interest is in treatment of pregnancy and post natal conditions as well as using cranial osteopathy for both adults and babies/children . The most common conditions treated are pelvic girdle pain (formerly known as symphysis pubis pain), coccyx pain and treatment of scars from caesarean section. She has trained for 18 months with the National Childbirth Trust and attended many paediatric and obstetric courses. She also practices acupuncture which can be a gentle and quick way of reducing pain as well as sports taping and Pilates based exercises for rehabilitation.

Rob Mastroddi, an ex-international squash player and graduate of Loughborough University’s prestigious Sports Science department. As an osteopath, whilst treating all kinds of ailments it’s not surprising he also has specialist skills and knowledge in the treatment of sports injuries.

We aim to provide a professional service within a safe and caring environment and keep the patient at the centre of what I do. I want people to know that I have their best interests at heart and aim to treat everyone I see with patience, understanding and empathy. When you walk out of the doors we want you to feel relief from any discomfort you had, encouraged, genuinely cared for and most importantly inspired to take responsibility for your own well-being.

We tailor treatment plans for a patient’s body and lifestyle - focusing not just on the cause of the pain, but also any maintaining factors (diet, poor posture, balance etc) that could cause the symptoms to linger. This involves the patient at all stages in their own treatment, thereby reducing the number of treatments required.

When you walk out of the doors we want you to feel relief from any discomfort you had, encouraged, genuinely cared for and most importantly inspired to take responsibility for your own well-being.

People will regularly come and see me for relief from back, neck and joint pain, sports injury, postural problems, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, headaches and much more (see website for further details).

Bucks Osteopathy is open Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm and Saturdays 8.30 – 1pm.

So don't put up with that pain or discomfort - call me on 01494 727859.

My eleven year old son had a few treatments with Sarah a while back. He didn't have any particular ailments or pain but I just thought it would be beneficial to get him checked over. Sarah quickly identified a couple of minor postural and stance issues which are not obvious to the untrained eye and did some cranial and massage work to align them. I was able to see an immediate improvement at the end of the treatment and my son responded positively to Sarah's calm and respectful bedside manner. Being a mum herself, she knows how to engage kids in a natural and non-patronising way. I have also had some treatments from her myself for minor stiffness in my back and always see and feel an immediate improvement after one or two treatments.

I have been seeing Sarah over a number of years for ongoing back trouble. She has always been very accommodating, giving me emergency appointments when needed, but keeping costs as low as possible by ensuring that I don't book more appointments than I need. She is friendly and cheerful, but most importantly, she keeps me moving!

Several years ago, I had three separate occasions when my back was so bad that I was barely able to move for several days at a time. While my GP simply advised me to "come back in six weeks if it hasn't improved", Sarah diagnosed and treated the problem, and got me not just moving but moving comfortably again very quickly. Thanks to regular treatments from Sarah since then, I have not had a major recurrence for about seven years, despite having had two pregnancies in that time and had two children to carry around.

Sarah also practised cranial osteopathy on both my children as newborns to help with reflux and colic. Within a week or so, she transformed my son from an unhappy baby who screamed inconsolably for several hours every evening to a smiling, contented baby who slept all evening. She assessed each child carefully and told me when she thought they did not need further treatment - each needed only two or three treatments.

I have always found her treatment effective and good value for money, and I have no hesitation in recommending her - in fact, I have already recommended her to a number of friends, who have been equally happy with the treatment they have received from her.

Sarah has worked wonders on my back and also treated my daughter with cranial massage to help with her colic and reflux when she was a baby.

Had a variety of sport injuries including a reoccurring hamstring issue. Can't recommend Sarah higher.
