Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
At first, the walls need to be checked to confirm the kind of construction as it must be insulated internally, the same with the roof. The floor needs to be increased not to have any step to access and to provide the proper insulation. The garage door should be changed to a door/window being part of the existing door filled with proper wall.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The basic is the high; bearing in mind it would be required to insulate the rafters from inside, there must be a minimum height 2m in a space enough to walk thru. If the property is 2 storey high or more, there must be possibility of a scape window to access to a secure place in case of fire.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
The existing attic floor and roof need to be calculated for the new loads (sometimes it require to be reinforced). The envolvement needs to be checked too and insulated if required to meet the regulations' requirements.
What’s your interior design process?
I ask the client what he/she wants to get to the works and prepare a couple of proposals I think are the better and we work on this until the final layout is agreed. I like to go back and forward with sketches and feedback to see all the possibilities and get the best one for the case. This process normally last a week or two.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We do traditional and modern, but always in accordance with the place where it is to be.
