We have stayed at the hotel before,We had to cancel our next stay at the Mollington Banastre due to my wifes illness,After checking my card account i had been charged. I contacted the hotel and spoke to Michala and i could not believe how rude and ignorant and unhelpful someone on customer service could be.Absolute disgrace.I would never stay there again. More...

My wife and I had booked the hotel for a Xmas lunch with 32 members of a society. On our arrival we noticed the Hotel was in practical darkness. It turns out the the Electricity had been off since 0430hrs that morning.Scottish Power were working on the problem. The good news was that the kitchen cooked mainly by Gas so all wasn't lost. ||I am pleased to say that they pulled out all the stops and was able to serve us with the menu we had ordered. The staff were brilliant and all of our guests were satisfied with the lunch. Thanks Fintan, Clive, & Mellisa for making the occasion a success when it could have been a disaster. More...

Visited last weekend for a 90th Birthday Party for Mr Cyril Stamper. Had not been for years to be honest. Premises were clean and smart with a roaring fire in the lounge which added to the atmosphere, good service on the bar and a welcoming atmosphere. Met old friends and had a good chat. The Lounge was very comfortable, and we went into a seperate dining area for the buffet lunch on tables of ten with copious supplies of good wine. ||The food was excellent, plenty of it served by friendly staff and the Manager was present and helpful to Mr & Mrs Stamper and their guests. The hotel was the venue for my sisters wedding and my wife and I had a 2 night stay there. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon and were greeted by friendly staff and checking in was easy. My mum and her friend had travelled down with us and my mum has mobility issues and requires a wheelchair to get about. Access to the hotel was via a ramp who's gradient made pushing up the ramp fairly easy and there were no raised door frames to negotiate, which you occasionally encounter at hotels. My mum had been assigned a ground floor room for the weekend, I'm under the assumption that is because there were no obvious lifts or stairchairs to the upper floor. This, however, should not detract from the fact that the room the stayed in was comfortable and spacious and is very suitable for a wheelchair user and I would suggest, that if anyone had any concerns, the staff would do their utmost to help rectify said concern. ||Our bedroom was classed as a double room but to our surprise and delight we found thay the bed itself appeared to be a superking size which would afford you the ability to 'starfish' quite comfortably without fear of pushing your spouse out of bed at some unearthly hour of the night time. The room itself was very clean and well presented, coffee and tea making facilities and the bathroom was clean and shower was very hot to say the least. The room overall was comfortable and clean and was a nice relaxing place to be away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding preparations. Our stay there included breakfast and this was both a buffet style full english or continental breakfast. The food itself was delicious and well cooked and both mornings we felt full and satisfied.||The wedding day itself was a wonderful occasion and was marshalled impeccably by Clive, the Deputy manager, who was there on both days of our stay. He made himself available at all times and nothing was too much trouble if you had a concern or problem. The whole day of the wedding went without a hitch and all the guests were treated superbly throughout the day. The food at the reception was excellent. The bride and groom had chosen a 3 course set menu for everyone and this was prepared and cooked to perfection and was delicious as was the evening buffet which offered a choice of both hot and cold fayre which again was prepared excellently in house. It would, at this point,be remiss if I didn't mention the staff, Amy, Rebecca, Tom, Jean, John and Mircea who worked so hard through the day to make the wedding day go so well. Thank you for all your hard work. ||There are Spa facilities there as well and not having used these facilities I cannot pass comment about them, however, both my daughter and sister used the swimming pool and reported that they had a lovely swim and relaxation in the pool. They also shared with me that an up and coming 'girlie' spa weekend might be in the offing so it would be reasonable to assume that the facilities were to their liking.||To sum up my stay at the hotel I would say it was an enjoyable and relaxing weekend despite the stresses of the wedding and both my wife and myself will stay here againwhen visiting this part of the world again and a big thanks once again to Clive for all the hard work he put in over the course of our stay. We were staying 17th-20th September after reading the reviews were a little apprehensive but on arrival we were very well looked after by Mr Gavin, (General Manager) and taken to a delightful and spacious room overlooking the gardens. Very clean with good facilities but perhaps could have had a little updating. My husband had trouble with the shower. The maintenance department tried to repair without luck so on our second day and with no trouble at all we were offered another room for him to shower in or a total change of room, which we decided to take. Although a smaller room it had a huge double bed and was very recently refurbished. This too was very comfortable. We were quite happy with the alternative choice. It is a perfect location to visit Chester City. Also within a few miles is the amazing Chester Zoo. Liverpool is around 30 to 40 minutes if you have a car. I can see us returning again we had a marvellous few days. Thanks to the Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel Team. More...

We wanted to visit Chester and had a hotel voucher as a gift. We booked at Mollington because of its proximity to Chester and the Zoo. Then we read the reviews. O dear. However we had a lovely 2 day stay. The staff were polite, very efficient and friendly. I am gluten free. This wasn't listed on the restaurant menu. However the staff were brilliant. The chef said he would adjust anything I wanted to gluten free ingredients. Both our evening meals were lovely. Breakfast was very good. Food was constantly replenished and nicely cooked. The room was typical Travel Lodge/Premier Inn style. Clean and tidy. The only bad point was the bed which was uncomfortable and very noisy every time one of us moved! This is reflected in the overall rating. We would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends and family. More...

Well, we returned again on the 3rd of August 2019. We intended to make a two weeks break and decided due to personal commitments, to stay local. What can one say about this hotel, it is a paradox insofar as the facilities require major works, while the staff are the finished product. One may normally not expect to find both under the same roof, but here we do. The staff belie the physical structures and conditions they work under. || I have always said, "for all things prior to booking in ask for Clive after you've booked in as for Nick". Something went wrong with that theory this visit. Clive worked really hard to acquire for us the room we required for the time we required. Now! While I have no doubt the service we received (which was undeniably all we could ask for) was at the direction of Nick, he himself was conspicuous by his absence. Nick posses amazing people skills (second to none I have ever encountered). he did display on this visit amazing management skills by arranging for our visit to be so well catered for by his staff, (we would have preferred the people skills to have been on display :). )|| All in All the structure is not even three-star the staff are five stars. Also, it is a pet-friendly hotel which can be seen in the rooms. ||Summation: ||1-1) Buildings require major works, ||1-2) Staff is a finished product by a country mile, you will find none better anywhere trust me on this.
