Wanting to try something different, my friend and I decided to try the Broken Oar on Sunday afternoon. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by Amber, who not only prepared our drinks, but even made suggestions based on our taste. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, Rockfish bites, and a bowl of cream of crab. The cream of crab was the best we have found in the area, lots of crab and finally somewhere that isn't afraid to spice up their food. The Rockfish bites were tempura style which isn't my preference, but my friend really enjoyed. She also really enjoyed the Mac and cheese. The other bartenders Nicole and Whitney also asked how everything was and if we needed anything.

While we are very aware, that the weather meant a much smaller crowd than a hot summer afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised by the food, reasonable prices and very good service. We were delighted to find a bar/restaurant where the bartenders treated male and female guest equally, which is a real problem at many other establishments.

We will definitely be adding the Broken Oar as one of our go to places! Thank you again, Amber, Nicole and Whitney for making our Sunday a good one!

We ordered the Pomegranate Chili wings and Crab dip to start with. He loved the crab dip more than the wings; I thought both were outstanding. For our entrees we ordered the flatbread - Margherita and Nabbs Creek. These things can feed three people they're so huge. Both were very good. Wednesday night is trivia night and it was a lot of fun. There were several large teams (6-8 people) and a few smaller ones. Evidently you can win a gift certificate.

The parking is rather small near the restaurant so if you have walking issues, go earlier in the evening to be able to park near the door, otherwise, you will find yourself hiking the hill and that hill is not small.
