I traveled to Prior Lake for a family visit and came across this salon, I am so very pleased I decided to stop in for a cut and a color! Mel (the owner) was able to do my hair that day, and she was the most wonderful. Because it had been so long since I had seen a good hair professional-I sort of let her take the reign. Great little salon. I wanted to try this place because I live close and I am not regretting this decision.Monica, one the of the 3 stylists, cut my hair and I could tell right away she knew what she was doing. Turns out she really knows her stuff because she used to run her own salon for over 25 years! Seems very rare to have found someone with that much experience in an area like this. Brixton Hue cares about quality and is on a mission to bring downtown quality and aesthetics to sweet ol Prior Lake. A very much needed breath of fresh hair (pun intended) down here.The salon itself is beautifully designed and decorated. They make you feel at home with comfortable furniture and offering of coffee or water. The price is a bit steep for a men's cut, but it's worth it to have peace of mind knowing your hair is in good hands.I highly recommend giving Brixton Hue a shot! What an awesome new addition to Prior Lake! I visited Mel at Brixton Hue Salon earlier this week for a full color/cut. I needed lots of color correcting and was so vague with what I wanted other than "pretty blonde hair". Mel consulted on all options and ultimately, I just let her do her thing. I am so happy with the result and have received so many compliments since. The salon has a modern/welcoming vibe and all of the staff was so nice! I felt like I was hanging out at a friend's house. Excellent salon! Hair grows back, but I hope not from this one! Fresh and clean, low and tight. Recently opened modern-urban styled salon, professional with a fun atmosphere, right in downtown Prior Lake! Friendly staff, warm greeting with a thirst quenching gift upon check-in, to boot. Mel, very welcoming and talented owner/stylist, introduced herself and made it very simple for me (a guy in a salon lol).... “sit in the chair and let’s see what we got.” Was I in for a first time experience treat. Let's be honest, guys, any geek off the street can hack away with clippers until you have a decent short cut. But if you want your hair long on top, long all over, or just long in the back (okay, don't do that), most barbers fall short.
Not Mel.
We go back 9 years, and whether I've been in a mood to go short, or if I wanted to keep my white-fro in tact, her technique's been spot on.
