We are absolutely delighted with the work done by Steve , Slim and their team. We wanted a new 300m block paving drive, external wall and patio. We wanted to employ a reliable, quality firm and a firm capable of doing a job of this size and complexity. We therefore wern't necessarily looking forthe cheapest. We selected Bristol Paving and 3 other companies following a google search and after exploring their websites that stood out to us. Steve responded to our query faster than the other companies and we had a firm quote from him in a few days. His professionalism, advice, honesty and his desire to do a great job shone through throughout and was head and shoulders above the other companies. Steve gave us examples of previous work he had done, some as much as 10 years ago and we visited them and in some cases spoke to the customers. Without exception the work was of the highest quality and everyone we spoke to were delighted with the work and all gave fulsome praise of Steve and the team. I reviewed all the Bristol Paving reviews and they were all brilliant (and have turned out to be true) which gave us the confidence to select Bristol Paving. It was a bonus when we found that Steve's quote was cheaper than the rest though we we would have selected them anyway as he gave us confidence that the other companies did not.

We had to wait about 8 weeks to start the work. as Steve had masses of work which also gave us confidence that we had selected the right company. Once they arrived, the work was completed from start to finish in 8 days, though they did start at 6.45am and finish often after 8pm! Throughout they checked with us that we were happy with everything being done and everything was done with a smile on their face and a senxe of humour which we liked. A couple of examples where they went the "extra mile" were where they showed great flexibility working with our gate installer timescales and requirements , even though it slowed them down and required them to do extra work not planned in the quote. I was really impressed when after installing a section of the patio edging as agreed by us, Steve said he felt it didnt look right to him, suggested that we should replace with some bull nose blocks. We accepted his advice and he recovered and reinstalled the new design which greatly enhanced the look and feel. This was again done within the agreed cost .

As it happened BRISTOL PAVING (Steve and "Slim") were one of the first to quote for a new paved drive and a pathway in our garden. The price was impressive and only one other was exactly the same. Steve followed up with an email quote and some addresses we could visit to inspect and check his work. In all we looked at 4 other locations and spoke to 3 customers, all said the same - that Steve and his team does a great job and not to be put off by his appearance .A little hard to get hold of at times but calling the office rather than his mobile worked better. Steve visited once again before the work started to go through the details and for us to choose a brick, pattern and some other options.As things turned out they came a day early and completed the job in two (long) days. I can confirm along with others reviewing Bristol Paving that their work ethic, mannerisms and consideration for neighbours are outstanding. We are really pleased with the patio which Steve and Slim did for us. It was a tricky area with lots of awkward angles but the finished imprinted concrete patio is fantastic. I can’t praise the team highly enough the work ethic is excellent and they kept us updated at every step of the process. Like every good tradesman they are in demand and you may have to wait a while for the work to commence but it really is well worth the wait. We had friends come to see the finished job and they are going to contact him for a job they want done. I can honestly say we are thrilled to bits with our driveway and extension to the drop kerb. Plus the recycling of the stone pavers in the front garden which were used to extend existing paths/patio in the back garden. The work ethic was amazing, the standard of workmanship was excellent. I am writing this review to comment on the great job Glenn owner/operator,and his crew did on my driveway. Bristol Paving does a very professional job. my driveway was a complicated task because of multiple buildings,vinyl fencing and pitch of driveway. Glenn and his crew really paid attention to surface prep.and pitch. After it was resurfaced the following day it rained and there was not one puddle. The asphalt they used to complete driveway was a very good grade. They also put a couple nice small curbs to blend in with street curb( great detail) . Just had our second big area block paved by Bristol Paving, the first was a 42 metre drive a year ago and still in perfect condition. The second was completed today which was a 32 metre block paved area in the rear garden, very professional and friendly service. Having been let down by several previous tradesmen who promised us a great deal and failed to deliver, Steve from Bristol Paving was open, honest and a pleasure to deal with from the outset.

Steve was on time when coming to discuss the work with us, offered us lots of options for the design without being overbearing and answered our questions. He provided us with a formal quotation within 24 hours and kept us informed of when he could start the work.

When it came to the actual work, Steve and his team did a fantastic job from start to finish. This included breaking up and removing old concrete and earth, putting in drainage, levelling out, laying the brick edging and block paving and building a new step into our house. Good advice was given when deciding on design.

When our previous builders messed us about and failed to rebuild our garage wall next to where the drive was going, Steve helped us out massively by digging out the foundations at very short notice and arranging for bricklayers to come and build the wall which was completed quickly, efficiently and finished to a high standard.

Steve and all his team were very professional, knowledgeable, punctual, friendly and hard working. Steve was true to his word and kept to the agreed estimate despite the need to dig out a deeper base (had to buy more hardcore than anticipated) to ensure a solid foundation for the driveway was lied.

We are absolutely over the moon with our new driveway and would highly recommend the services of Bristol Paving. More...

In short - Bristol Paving had been very good from beginning to end, with just a minor issue around accidentally burying my water meter for a few months.

The quality of the work is top notch, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve and his team to anyone considering a driveway conversion.

Steve came out to quote for our job and was on time, friendly and very helpful. I explained what I had in mind (a double drive with steps 90 degrees from the front door).

Steve explained that it would be complex and expensive for very little gain, and that I’d be far better off having a single drive with wide steps that would be easy for my pregnant wife to climb. Throughout the process Steve was a great help, offering his insight and expertise and reassuring us along the way. He gave a written quotation which was stuck to, and although it wasn’t the cheapest quote we received, my wife and I had absolute confidence in Steve and the list of reference projects he had done.

Once the build had started the guys were on time every single day without fail, and were polite and thoughtful - little things like telling me they were about to do some disk cutting, so I may want to close the front windows to avoid getting dust in the house. The chaps were very polite and we were only too happy to provide plenty of food and drinks and they worked long and hard throughout the build.

My steps took the guys a lot of work, but you can see they are absolutely rock solid, and even after I’d paid Steve the full balance he was still checking the pavers on his way out to make sure everything was perfect.

The quality of the brickwork is nothing short of perfect. I’ve tried to take some close up photos of the workmanship but to say every single brick was meticulously laid, measured, adjusted, and re-measured – its perfect.
Overall, we are totally happy with Bristol Paving. The price was fair for the work involved, everything is structurally rock solid and the finish is perfect.
